Removing Hash Stripes
My 16 Stingray lease is just about up and I am going to lease a 2018 GS. It has every option we wanted and didn't want BUT it is the Heritage edition and I just can't get over the red hash stripes on the front fenders. Will they peel off with a heat gun?
Also I want to install the carbon flash hood insert or the dual black or carbon flash full body stripes. I know I could order them from Chevy but is there a cheaper place to get them?

Can you mod a LEASED car like that? What happens at the end of the lease? I honestly do not know. Just asking.

I don't know if you can take them off on a leased vehicle without having to replace them when your lease is up. Maybe they wont notice them gone when you turn in the leased 2018.

The dealer said they will take them off for me if I want but I figured I would wait to have it delivered and drive it for a month to see if i change my mind but I think they are coming off sooner or later. If they were black it wouldn't be bad but red on a white car....nah.

It’s a vinyl decal. Just lift and peel. Heat will make it a little easier, or you could park it in the sun for an hour, but neither are necessary... Waiting is the right choice as they might “grow” on you.

You don't want them... get rid of 'em and move on. They're decals!

I want to add the Carbon Flash to the hood, any after market sources?
Or maybe even dual racing stripes.

You can probably use a hair dryer to help get them off.

I took mine off.....a little heat from a hair dryer and they pulled off easily. No residue or any indication they were ever on there. You don't need to and you don't want to use anything to "scrape" them....you're then asking for trouble.

If the dealer will take them off as part of the deal, let him. If it doesn't go well he will correct the paint.
if you don't like them now, they're are not going to grow on you tomorrow.
