Scat Pack to C7?

Scat Pack to C7?
I've seen a lot of threads on C7 owners going to scat pack or hellcat challengers, but wanted to get input to see if someone has gone the other way.
I have 2016 Scat Pack, and was considering trading it in (close to even) for 1LT 2015 Convertible low miles. I have owned a 2013 2ss Camaro coupe, challenger and was looking to go convertible route and go corvette.
It's not a daily driver, I drive it primarily on weekend. All input greatly appreciated.

The Challenger is a much bigger car to be honest, they are nice but after sitting in one at the auto show last year I felt like I was in a boat compared to my C7. Haven't seen many people ditch a C7 for a Challenger, though I guess it's certainly possible. Would be interesting to see what they might say.

Do you want a huge freeway roller or a well rounded sports car?

I cant comment on the challenger as I've never been in one. However I did have a 2016 Camaro SS. I thought the C7 and the Camaro would be pretty similar given they are both GM vehicles with the same engine.
Wrong. Everything in the vette is more... hardcore. The clutch is harder, the shifter is more mechanical, the ride is waaaay harsher, its louder (to my ears anyways). In my case as a weekend car I love it.
That being said it's also a lot more uncomfortable of a ride and also to get in and out of it is a pain. So I guess it depends on what you want from the car. Fast, comfortable cruiser I would stick with the Camaro/Challenger. Sports car I would go with the vette.
Thats my take anyways.

So some time passed and I cooled off the idea about buying a new car. My intention if I was to get another car (#4) would be for it to be a weekend cruiser for sure. That challenger was going to fit the bill perfect.
last year dodge really basically was trying to "give" me a 17 SRT 392... i almost pulled the trigger, but i had to just check out the vette as my last option before I buy.... to shorten this up..
I went and drove the only M7 car on a lot within 50 miles of me, 1LT Z51, 20 min later I was buying the car!
In the end it's a fun cruiser and and a pretty damn capable canyon carver when called upon. Now a year later I would not/nor ever trade my barebones base model vet for dodge. Different strokes for different folks!

Here I am bro...
Had 4 Challengers in 5 years, (while retaining my C5), traded in my precious Scat Pack Shaker for the C7 in July 2016..
Listen, I LOVED the Scat Pack.. roomy, comfortable, powerful, rode GREAT, but..... it was starting to feel a little "boxy", kinda too large a ride for just me or me & my wife... I was "ready" to move into the C7...
Once I sat in the C7, it was all over,,, feels great, rides terrific, plenty of trunk space, fit just right, and with about the same HP & TQ as the Scat Pack, but weighing in at 1000lbs LESS, this thing is a ROCKET!!!!!!! So here I am....

A Corvette is similar size to a 911 - I don't think a Challenger is a comparable car.

I can comment on this since i owned a 2015 challenger scat pac 6 mt for about 4 months. The manual is the wrong gear box for this car, its all about a A8. absolutely hands down the worse car buy I've ever made, great looking car but HATED the driving experience after one week of ownership.... i should have test drove more. My mistake.
scat pac's weight is well over 4000 lbs!!!!!!!! it is a BOAT plain n simple. That is nearly 1000 lbs fatter than a C7
Honestly a C7 & scat pac are not in the same class... as its been said before a C7 is a true sports car and the challenger scat pac is a land yacht.
Bottom line the challengers are a 1 trick pony & c7's can pretty much do it all.

my take
The Scat pack is a straight line sledge hammer, a contemporary throwback to classic American straight line iron, the Vette is more Swiss Army knife; capable of speed, handling, relative comfort and more balanced.....

I have a 2016 Challenger Hellcat and a 2017 C7 GS. I enjoy driving both cars. Clearly the C7 will out corner the Hellcat and my Hellcat will easily outrun my C7 in an acceleration contest. As a daily driver, the Hellcat is a much more comfortable car. Put some wider wheels and decent tires on the Hellcat and it doesn't handle nearly as bad as claimed, but certainly would never be a match for a C7 in a corner. Interestingly, my Hellcat and Vette have the same front Brembo brakes. I replaced the stock brake pads with Power Stop Z26's on both cars and they take the exact same pads on the front. The rears are different, with the Hellcat having larger brakes on the rear. I really don't see a lot of difference in the build quality of the two cars and have not had a single mechanical issue with either one.

Interesting video …. Hellcat dusts Houston police, outruns all mobile county and state police, the state police helicopter, and the press helicopter, then eventually runs out of gas ….

I owned a 2016 Challenger scat pack. I really liked the Challenger, but it was never comparable to my 2015 Vert Vette. It was a great kid hauler and fun in a straight line. It sucked going around corners. The tires are too small as well. I ended up trading the Challenger in on a 2018 1SS Vert Camaro redline edition. The LT1 engine is great, and I really enjoy the Magnetic Ride Control that I have on both vehicles. I do miss the exhaust note from the Challenger and the huge back seat. I have only had the Camaro for less than a month and have 1100 miles on it. I had the Challenger for almost 2 years and only put 7200 on it. I really enjoy my convertibles so that is probably the biggest reason the Challenger didn't get as much drive time.

I owned a 14 RT Shaker Challenger and a 15 Scat Pack. Love both cars, pretty fast (not corvette fast), comfortable and lots of room. However, both have been sold and replaced by a 17 Z51 and a 17 Z06.

I rented a Challenger before but it seemed huge to me. My supervisor traded his Mustang GT for a Scat Pack. He took me for a ride in it and got on it one time. WOW!!!!!
I knew I had to get me a new HP car with similar power. I bought a Corvette, not a muscle car. I can't imagine how someone could be considering between a Challenger or a Corvette. One is a Sports car, and one is not. You should had decided on a muscle car or a sports car well before picking a specific model.
