There was a thread here some time ago where a user bought the system and had the tips start to "peel".

Yours does not look like impact or abrasion damage but rather a failure in surface bonding from the factory.

I would understand if that was the case but you can feel it with your fingertip how the tip was scraped against something it is not just a peel...
i have escalated the situation with GM assistance about this and the way I am being treated as a consumer of their top notch vehicle.

also I would do the same but the vehicle is barley even driven on the street yet alone track. I know it was in 10/10 Condition when dropped off to service, and returned damaged. The dealership knows they did it in my opinion thus refusing to service the vehicle and fix the exhaust felt loose and other issues...

i would carefully remove the remaining loose clear coat and touch up with some clear. in a week you will forget all about it and save yourself lots of aggravation.

I was contacted by the Owner of the Dealership trying to smooth the situation out considering the nasty yelp review I left on their establishment. He implied that his Service Manager is not "usually" like that but whatever the case. I have contacted the company as well as the dealership from what the Owner of the Dealership told me into trying to Warranty these ? Going back and forth sending my invoice around to see what the resolution is. He just wanted the yelp review removed once resolved. Lets see what happens... btw i know it was damaged at the facility 100% but whatever i guess. Hope it all works out

good for the dealer, I wish you luck as I have been in similar situations in the past. The power of social media and reviews such as yelp can really help your case.

I don't get repping any dealer plates on a car, let alone a Porsche plate on a Vette. And I like Porsches. But not on a vette.

Thanks to the OP for posting this. Exhaust tips may be the last thing anyone would expect to get damaged when getting tranny work done but this reminds me to be extra careful about looking things over closely before accepting the car back after a dealership works on it. Goes both ways, I've noticed some dealerships have that 'visual inspection' sheet where they jot down damage they see on a car before they take the keys. Even if it's just a little ding or scratch on the paint.

And how about a proper Chevy frame for that beast ...

Please forgive my ignorance, but how much better can a $5,000 exhaust system be than a stock setup? What does it do for you? Is it super lightweight or does the exhaust note sound like music? Does it add a lot of horsepower to the engine?

Just curious as to why someone would spend that much on it. Not knocking it, just truly curious.

If they deny your claim I would elevate the problem up the food chain until you get to the franchise owner. Good luck.

I didn't pay anywhere near 5k for my exhaust, but I did it mainly for the sound. It's no different than buying a car because you like the way it looks.

Yeah, I’ve bought Corsa exhaust for my previous Vettes to improve on the sound....I think I paid between $1,200-$1,300 or so. Just wondering how much better can a $5,000 system be? I’d like to hear some sound clips from that company. Maybe I’ll go online to their site and find out.
