Maybe a stupid question, but does installing this device affect the warranty in any way?

I lived for 3 1/2 years driving my non MRC 2014 Z51 with what GM thought was the "right throttle response when in Track!" When I got my Grand Sport, lived for a few months thinking I could get used to the "slow tip-in" when driving in Touring! I would have to drive in a teeth rattling Track mode to match what I had in my 2014!

PIA from what I was used to, both taking off and accelerating into the 65 mph traffic with my M7 when I entered the 4 lane highway at the end of my street! Enough of a difference that I installed Vitesse and have it set for about what GM supplied when in Track mode in my 2014. Works great- fast enough for me.

I can get the "steering response I was used to" by setting the GS as always Sport regardless of driving Mode. Have NPP set for always Track. But no such option for Throttle response.

Stated by Vitesse themselves:

No, our Throttle Controller will not void your warranty because it does not interfere with your ECU.

This is a simple Plug and Play device that can be removed anytime without modifying your original Tune.

**************************************** *******
You can remove it easy enough if your worried

Yikes missed this one - sorry

You have to push in **** to calibrate it or put it into eco or sport mode

You cant re-calibrate it or even get it working properly if you cant push it in all the way - I did not notice this when I first installed unit seemed to be working fine

I wanted to re-calibrate it after reading more about it to be sure all was well but did not get the ECO words to display

Had Ed from Vitesse on phone while I was in my car trying to get it to work - **** fell off by mistake and I pushed in the switch without **** and all was well, got ECO words to display

Ed said he would report it to designers

The shaft I feel was not long enough and or the plastic key way is not long enough on back side of ****

If you push it in and see ECO words after you calibrated it yours is pushing in enough to do functions - mine was not - Vitesse is looking into it

Then we’re talking about two different experiences. With a manual there are more user inputs that may not interact well with the faster throttle response.

While I really wish throttle response was customizable in the same way that steering feel and mrc are, I’ve decided to skip the Vitesse at this point. I’m looking forward to mastering the difference between tour and sport and being able to seamlessly switch between the two just as I would switch throttle inputs between two different vehicles. It will take longer but it will be worth it in the end. Ymmv.

Hmm, if "an M7 did not interact well with the faster throttle response" than GM would not provide 4 different levels (see my Post #13 in this very long Thread!)
One for Weather Mode (Very Slow,)
One for ECO/Touring Mode (Slow)
One for Sport Mode (Somewhat Faster)
One for Track Mode (Fastest)

I drove my non MRC 2014 C7 M7 for 3 1/2 years with the fastest GM Throttle response. When I got my Grand Sport with MRC I drove in Touring as driving in Track to get the max GM throttle response rattled my teeth! I drive with the Vitesse set at 5, which IMO matches what I was used to for 3 1/2 years in my 2014. As Vitesse notes, a setting or 5 provides a linear throttle response, i.e 25% pedal = 25% throttle opening etc. The slow tip-in in Touring Mode was not acceptable to me.

Strange problem this morning. Fired up the car and noticed that I was getting A15 and A30 errors that alternated with my SP5 setting. The unit functioned correctly, just kept getting those codes flashing.

Any ideas whats going on?

That is NOT and error code. It is an acceleration number or some such indicator. I did a quick scan of this Thread-but it's too long! Someone posted the issue I think on this Thread but could have been another re Vitesse.

I have my remote mounted on the side of the console and use the "click" step **** for setting when I change it (which is seldom.) I don't (can't) see anything!

Jerry is right its not an error code - I called support thats normal its when you accelerate those numbers go up or down when off the gas then goes back to your SP5 setting - all good

Its actually a useful function. With the ignition on (motor off), you can check to see if the Vitesse is calibrated correctly. It reads out 0 - %100 depending on how far you press the pedal.

You people are ALL RIGHT!!!!

Now we need Jerry at Vitesse to offer an upgrade remote with MUCH brighter LED's, maybe green or blue so they can be easier to see!

Now I'm happy I mounted where I can't look at the display when driving! Don't want to be distracted!

No need to look, **** is Click to adjust. Full CCW - "0" - no change from OEM; 5 Clicks CW (from "0") = #5 setting = linear response per Vitesse -25% pedal = ~25% throttle. 9 Clicks CW equals most aggressive 85% throttle at perhaps 50% pedal. All 100% pedal = 100% throttle.

Suffice to say, I move both of my feet quite a lot. Minimal foot movement is NOT one of my priorities.

Thing is, a lot of us (I expect) want tour softness with Track level throttle. Especially with the wheel bending and such that's being seen on GS models. Not going to risk wheel damage and crazy-stiff ride just to get faster throttle response.

Wheel bending would be a good pot hole or something lovely in the road normal driving should not bend a wheel

But its the feeling your butt gets when you lightly depress the gas pedal and your car takes off!

JerryU,

Are you saying the display is frequently changing as you are driving down the road? Is that correct?

If that is so, that is good to know. I would not want that distraction either, and would like to know if that is true so that I can mount it out of sight so that I am not distracted by the display frequently changing.

The display changing is no more distracting than your speedo or tach changing -- which is to say, not at all.
