Vitesse = WOW

Read through the thread and on the fence about getting a Vitesse. I definitely don’t like the fact that there are different throttle responses between tour and sport modes (the two I spend the most time in). On the other hand, I’m always a little cautious when it comes to modifying any electronic systems simply because I have no way of knowing if the aftermarket system is communicating with all the other electrical systems in the same way that the oem system would.
So my question to those that have a lot of drive time with the Vitesse is does it alter the way the traction/stability control systems perform relative to the way they perform with the oem throttle? Does it allow more wheel spin or allow the back end to kick out quicker if you get on the throttle too much mid corner? I like the way traction/stability control work as is and can turn them off if I choose. However, I don’t want anything that will alter the way those systems currently perform in tour and sport modes. I like that they can and probably have saved my bacon already, and I’ve felt them kick in a time or two when I got on the throttle too much mid corner.

Wgg2017 I feel like you're over thinking it. The throttle is solely an input device. So all this does is modify what comes from the throttle. All other systems and responses to that input are unmodified.

Just installed the Vitesse and it really makes a nice difference to the how the car drives. It feels far more responsive. For me SP7 is the right setting. Drive in this setting for a while and then dial it back to stock and the car then feels sluggish. I agree with Foosh it’s just a matter of putting your foot down further and quicker but for me a sports car needs to be very responsive and the Vitesse does that.
Installed the controller in the center console between the usb and the power outlet using double sided tape. Nicely angled towards me like that. Removed the side trim and tucked the cable behind the carpet and then the other box I used double sided tape to the underside of the steering column area. I could not find a single item to use cable ties on to connect to like others have on the forum. Everything tucked away and out of sight just as I like it. Has to be one of the most uncomfortable locations and positions one needs to work in.
I would recommend it.

That's just a personal preference thing, and what some describe as "more responsive" even though that is actually not the right term. More responsive with less foot movement is actually what we're talking about.
I would have no quibble with folks saying, "the Vitesse really wakes up the car, with minimal throttle manipulation."

Thanks, but the essence of my point is that having to use one's foot more quickly and pressing further does not mean it's less responsive. It simply means you have a preference for not moving your foot much to get more response.

As I said above, it does "fool" you into thinking you have more responsiveness. To me, it's too "twitchy" and more often than not causes too much throttle, inducing wheel slip, causing one to dial back throttle, both of which lose time.
It's one of them there psychological phenomenons.

So if a device is created that increases/decreases turning radius from say 6 full turns of the wheel to 3, it doesn't make for more responsive steering?

Have we forgotten it removes the nasty lag and my tranny shifts smoother up or down - better gas mileage - this unit is doing more than you think
Its like the throttle body and the tranny got together and said hey lets work together like we should, pretty obvious what its doing

I can't speak to what it would do for an automatic C7. I've never driven one, and don't expect to. However, you raise an interesting point. I can see where it might make it feel smoother.

Don't take my word for it. Do your own research on how the C7 gas pedal actually works and how the Vitesse unit actually works. Read Vitesse's own engineering statements. "Placebo Effect".

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If it makes the car feel better to you -- makes the throttle response/pedal travel ratio closer to what you prefer (or you just like the adjustability of it), then it's worthwhile.
