63 in 8th and 64 just running for pride.
The fix is in for Porsche for the 70th anniversary, they're running away with it. Lots of time left and reliability will certainly play a factor, but I wouldn't bet the ranch.

I thought the damage happened when he bumped with the Aston Martin.
Did they decide it happened when he couldn't make that turn a lap later?

For timing comparisons to the other cars, Corvette pit crew changed the brakes on all 4 corners in 29 seconds earlier in the race.

Actually as I remember the tire puncture occurred when one of the AMs bumped us...we went off course later when we couldn’t hold the line. Sad, disappointed ting ending last year but all part of the endurance aspect.

Public Service Announcement: Check your DVRs, if you're like me you've set each segment to record and I just realized that I'm almost out of space which would have resulted in missing the end of the race.

The Porsche RSR has been BOP upgraded over the last couple of seasons from near last to first. They've been dominating lately in the IMSA GTLM series as well. They'll get dialed back just like the FGTs did a couple of seasons ago right after they dominated at Le Mans finishing 1,3&4.

Porsche and Fords were fastest in practice and the Vettes wind up with extra weight.... It was adjusted after qualifying, but not enough. The BMW guys were laughing about how they escaped any major weight gain, luckily the BMW race cars are about as reliable as their road cars so not much to worry about with them

67 and 68 Fords still need to do brakes. If it takes as long as the 69, the 63 Corvette will jump up to P5.

BTW, it's easy for BMW to escape weight gain. They are the heaviest and biggest in the class. That's why almost everyone else gets ballast. You're right that they have major reliability problems, and they just aren't suited to endurance races. They have been fast, and are competitive in the short races that aren't long enough for them to break down.

They did. Corvette and Aston Martin were the only 2 cars that had a chance for the win on the final lap and Jordan Taylor had a tire go down within a couple miles of the checkered flag, giving the win to the Aston, and a Ford GT slipped by right at the end to steal 2nd place. The Corvette ended up in P3.

Looks like a repeat from a couple years ago, favorable BOP gives one team a big advantage, this year instead of Ford the winner of the BOP lottery was Porsche. Nothing against Porsche, but I think the rules are pretty bad when they allow a team to race a car that's not available for the general public to buy. Last time I checked, Porsche does actually make a mid-engine coupe, but it's not a 911, it's a Cayman. They finally got BMW to build a race car you could actually buy, unlike the previous V8 powered Z4, which, like the mid-engine 911, was not available for sale to the public. I do understand their attempts to gain parity between cars, but it's pretty hard to make N/A cars comparable to turbo cars with today's electronics and the sandbagging that goes on.
