Default A/C compressor turns off below 500RPM

My AC compressor turns off if my RPMs drop below 500. Is this normal for the C7 M7?

When do you go below 500 RPM? Idle is a 700-800 RPM? The AC compressor does cycle on and off at low RPM's to prevent engine overheating.

Usually happens when I don't blip the throttle to take off in 1st gear.

Yep. Normal. When the engine gets to a certain threshold where it sorta gets in that lugging range, the compressor will drop offline too remove engine drag

Sounds normal.
I'm sure the pcm is trying to reduce the load on the engine so it wont stall.

Normal - Protection to keep engine running without lugging or dying...
Since idle is 600-700 RPM, unsure how it would see 500 RPM unless driving out of normal RPM range..

I didn't know the engine would even run that slowly.

First I have heard of that happening! But if I were the engine sure would want them to remove that ~3 hp and shut off the alternator as well! If not I'd show you and stall!
