Lake Minatare Lighthouse near Scottsbluff in Western Nebraska is one of only seven inland Lighthouses in the United States.

Great photo. I didn't realize that there were any lighthouses inland other than those on the Great Lakes. Several years ago, we went on a road trip to the Great Lakes and hit as many of the old light houses as we could locate.

Seems no two are alike.

If I recall correctly, each one had a unique color/pattern and a unique flash as an aid to ships finding their location before GPS and the like.

Pigeon point lighthouse.

I did a painting of that a few years ago, taken from a pic I took in 1985 during a bicycle trip from Seattle to San Diego.
