It could also be that I believe some GS owners got the wrong calibration, since there was considerable confusion over that particular package.

When I received the upgrade a few months ago the part number was that of a 2017 Z06 FE6. So I went from the OE calibration of an April 2017 produced GS to the "upgraded" p/n 84375894 with a description; " New calibration to support performance parts and motor sport catalog customers". This was actually the p/n for a 2107 Z06 FE6 at the time. It caused some concern since GM never released the upgrade p/n for the 17 GS FE6. About a week ago, I ran my TIS output via the website and found they changed the p/n from 84375894 to 84421869 with a description; "Real Time Damping". This change occurred without any action on my part, so it was updated by GM.

I'm assuming that those of us that received the 17 ZO6 FE6 84375894 with a description; " New calibration to support performance parts and motor sport catalog customers" should of actually received the 17 GS FE6 84421869 with a description; "Real Time Damping". So even though my p/n is updated to the new 844211869 calibration, my actual calibration is 84375894 and I will require a new calibration. Hence the recall. I will call in the morning and find out if this is actually the reason for the recall.

Those of us (17 GS FE6) that received the 84375894 upgrade with a description; " New calibration to support performance parts and motor sport catalog customers" , check your recall messages and let us know.

^ That's the most plausible explanation I've heard, and it synchs with the confusion about the correct package for the FE6 suspension, which was much discussed here several months ago.

I had my update done on March 3rd. Right after the update I checked and I never had the message "New calibration to support performance parts and motor sport catalog customers". Mine has always said what it says back on my post #5 on this thread. I have been following this and it always made me wonder if I got the right update since some had that and some didn't. I will be eager to see what you find when you call. thanks

One last thing. When I took mine in for UPGRADE last week, even tho I gave service manager instruction sheet of who to call w/VIN & how they would then guide service tech thru procedure, they messed up. They came & told me all done!. Checked the service printout & it said "customer requested update to MRSC, but customer has the latest flash for suspension". DOH!!! I took a deep breath, calmly explained that WAS NOT the UPGRADE option where customer pays. This was what they would do if I had a warranty issue with the suspension! After 10 mins & another call to Tech LIne Customer Support, he finally got the big picture. It was done & verified by me on the tis2web.service.gm.com website. Whew! So check your service printout & VERIFY!

Question is, Do you notice the different ride characteristics and handling in each mode? For me, Tour was the biggest change , softer ride and better with rough roads. I have used sport steering in Tour mode since day one and not much of the Sport mode itself. Sport mode rattles my teeth and has ever since It was delivered, so Tour is my daily mode around town. I have not had the opportunity yet to really "test" Track mode so I have no idea what the OE Track mode is really like for a comparison.
If you feel there were improvements in each mode then you most likely have the current calibration.
I'm glad I took screen shots of my TIS output before and after the p/n changes. This is probably still going to be hard to explain to the Chevy service folks.

See my post above about going to the tis2web.service.gm.com website. There is a thread about how to verify. Type in MRSC in thread search box top right of login page. Should be 4th post under there-"Anyway to check/confirm...etc". If it's been done you will see what poster above said about performance parts...... SEEMS you might have paid for nothing.

Are these the same service departments we’re expecting to service a mid engine corvette. Good luck with that.

I have not done the up grade yet. I do not have the notice

No recall for my 2017 FE6 GS and I had the upgrade done a couple months ago. My car did however get the new GS calibration according to the TIS website when I checked right after the upgrade.

Yes, this is crazy! I have been having the same issue getting the proper K19 performance calibration upgrade, but have not received any recall notification. Car is a 2017 GS with FE6. If you would please, advise us what you find out about this recall notice (cause and resolution). Thanks!

I have it on good authority that this is specific to cars that have had the MRC Upgrade. Cars that are still running the software they were built with are not part of this.

It only affects Blue cars.

"Improper calibration software may cause sudden loss of traction and sharp left turns into concrete track walls in Detroit".

Would I be correct in assuming, looking at OPs screenshot, that this is only for '17/'18s? Thanks!

That's how it looks to me. It seems like all the confusion started with the '2nd batch' of calibrations that came out in Q1 2018. There's not nearly as much confusion regarding the 14-16 cars.

I just got back from talking to my service rep and tech. They are going to reflash the control module tomorrow. Apparently the upgraded calibration I paid for (843755894) is not the one they should of installed. More to follow after the install tomorrow.

Many thanks to Jeff V. and others for keeping everyone updated on this MRC mess.

I had the upgrade done on my 17 GS FE6 last month. Dealer called me at work while he had the car, said there were actually two versions available for my car, asked whether I wanted track mode changed as well. Not having any info and needing to make a decision since the dealer tech had Techline on the other line, I said to install 84421869 since that seemed to be the most common p/n on the forum threads for FE6 17 GS. That p/n showed up on the tis website about an hour later, that is what it currently shows. Dealer tech said that's what he installed in similar cars previously. I should have asked him what the alternate p/n was.

Low speed in touring is an improvement, speed bumps and humps are more tolerable now. But I just finished a 1400 mile round trip to Bloomington Gold, and at highway speeds I still feel every little bump in Tour mode, seems like there is no improvement. Tire pressures were only in the ~32 range even though it was quite warm out, so I don't think it was overinflation. I just I just checked mychevrolet.com and I do not have a recall notice. I'll wait another week to see how this plays out or if I get a notice before returning to the dealer.

I'm not sure what authority you are talking about but it certainly is not 100% true. My 2017 Z with the MRC upgrade is not part of this recall and so are a few others in this forum.

I called Chevy customer service and they said that my, vehicle which has MRC, does not have a recall. I feel every bump even in Tour mode. I'm due for an oil change so I'm going to ask my dealer service rep. Is the upgrade worth it or should a 2017 Z51 stingray already have it? The car was built at the end of April 2017. What part number should I ask for if the car doesn't have the upgrade? Judging by what is said on the forums most dealers don't have a clue. Any help would be great.

This is only for cars that were programmed incorrectly. Be glad yours is not one of them.
