Default Is GM getting rid of Z51s?

I don’t see Z51 in any dealer stocks for a while.

Does anybody have a clue of what is happening?

Admiral blue is also becoming rare.

Thanks

That's just your opinion. It has been a very popular color around here. And FYI, it is being discontinued and replaced with the new Elkhart Lake Blue.

Gawd, I hope not!

The Z51 optioned C7, is the most purest, cheapest, most beautiful AND fastest form of C7!

Believe when dealers order units for inventory, they usually stick with easily sold and highly profitable "visual" options such as Grand Sport, non-standard rims(usually black, but chrome also), the battery tender, as well as obvious and in demand mechanical upgrades such as powerful Z06 and automatic transmission. Z51 option and MRC are expensive options on base C7's that are not easily "seen" and therefore mostly desired by true enthusiasts only and not typical consumer. Not certain why, but blue must have somewhat fallen out of favor, would think it would be ordered by dealers if color was in demand.

As far as Admiral Blue, 6/28 was the last day that color could be ordered. They will be in production until 8/13, so there should still be a few trickling out, depending on what dealers are stocking. The big forum dealers will probably stock at least a few.

Though the Z51 option certainly appeals to those who don't care for the wide-body look, however want the improved handling/performance there's only a $3200 cost difference between the Z51 w/MSR and the Grand Sport.
So it wouldn't surprise me at all to see GM stop offering the Z51 option, especially considering GS's huge popularity.

As stated above dealers stock the best profit cars. I just was searching and did a locate for a 2019 Grand sport with M7 and comp seats. Not one in the country, not even one at 3000 anywhere. I guess if you want that combo it must be ordered. My concern is I do believe you will get your best deal on an inventory car. Well hopefully one will pop up.

Dealers will stock the most popular models which sell quickly (especially the large dealers). The Grand Sport is about $3K more that at Z51 and you get more trinkets.

Not sure how you did your search but I know of a Sebring orange 19 GS with comp seats and M7 near me

The simple reason is that the Z51 has become the red haired stepchild of the Corvette lineup. Nowhere near as inexpensive as the Base 1LT, which as a single model, is the best selling, and only with the GS being less than $3,000 more (retail price, not MSRP) the GS outsells the Z51 by 4:1. None of the big forum dealers are stocking Z51's any more, although they are happy to order one for you, because they just don't sell.

They did that with the last few years of the C6, I believe as soon as the GS came out they stopped offering the Z51 package on the base models.

Noticed that looking for 2019 Z51 info on one of the MRSC-upgrade threads. Couldn't find any with MRSC anywhere, but a Local dealer has two sans MRSC. Out of 184 new C7s at MacMulkin only one is a Z51.

Z51s are a bit easier to find in my area, although overall choice of Corvettes in general is low. For instance, there are only 5 2018s left within an 80 mile radius of my house, but the GM website shows that 3 of those 5 have the Z51 option. We still can't search for 2019s yet on the GM Canada site.

Joe the cheapest is the base car. The rest of your post is somewhat off base.

No, he was wrong that it needs to go away, as it was (and still is) a very popular color on here. For the 2018 model year it outsold Long Beach Red, yellow and silver, so it wasn't low popularity that killed it. Admiral Blue is actually extremely close in color to LeMans Blue, a color that was also very popular and certainly wasn't a "one and done" color. Joe arrogantly thinks that his opinion is the only one that matters on this forum, as evidenced by his constant barrage of insane posts. He's a complete knucklehead.

Read it and weep, sweetie; "one and quickly done, baby!"

Elkhart Blue takes it from bad to worse! !
