2018 Z06 PDR saying please insert SD card even though I tried 2
I have a 2018 z06 auto in 2lz with PDR. The car just reached 294 miles today and just for fun I wanted to try the performance data and video recorder. Went to best buy and bought a 64 gig one. First I thought I was putting it in the wrong place in the left side of the glove box in the SD car slot. Didn't work. The car kept saying Please insert sd card everytime I went to the PDR menu. Went back to best buy and got a 32 gig SD card and the kid who worked there confirmed to me it was in the FAT format. Still the car didn't recognize it. Needs a trip to the dealer or am I buying the wrong SD cards?

There's also a quick W10 utility: Fat32 Format It will format "at least" 64GB card. I haven't tried a 128GB, but I have no doubt it works as well.

The card requirements are pretty specific - SDHC 32gb or smaller, U1 or U3, class 10 that is FAT32 formatted. That being said most every SanDisk, Sony & PNY SDHC 32 gb card on Amazon over $20 meets that spec.
These are the ones I use: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...sdhc_32gb.html

32gb or smaller is NOT a requirement. You can use as large a card as you want as long as it is formatted FAT32. I have been using larger cards since day one with no issue. I just reformatted using a 3rd party utility to FAT32.

I ordered this one from walmart.com because someone in the Corvette group on facebook said it will work right out of the pack. Ill try it when I receive it tommorow and if not then its off to the dealer.

Reminds me of my sega genesis and nintendo video game cartridges from the 90s that always seemed to work after I blew on them. Wonder what the science is behind that?

Glad I found this thread. Same issue here. Using the right card and proper format and PDR doesn't see it. Weird thing is I've used the same card in the car before. I tried 2 others and nada, nothing. Having different electrical gremlins since the dealer did the mag ride update like air bag warning, check engine with no codes, service abs and this PDR issue.
It's under warranty but I don't trust dealer.
Any help would be appreciated.

Not only does it need to be formatted FAT32, but also Master Boot Record instead of the GUID partition scheme. I had the same problem, bought a SanDisk 32GB card and PDR won’t recognize even in FAT32 until I reformatted using the Master Boot Record partition scheme.

Figured it out and it all checks out. I guess I'll try wiping the contacts. I have 3 of the same cards and none of them are recognized.

It depends on what platform you're on and what app you use to format the SD card. But whatever app you use, there should be a "partition scheme" pull down that says either GUID or Master Boot Record or MBR. You want to make sure it's selected for MBR or else it won't work.
I'm using my Mac OS X for example. Any PC formatting software capable of formatting to Windows FAT32 should have the same drop down. For format you want to make sure it's FAT32, not Mac OS Extended or NTFS. For Scheme you want to make sure it's Master Boot Record, not GUID Partition Map.
