I need to decide today which one to buy - $1000 difference
Leaning toward the new car. What car is worth more in 3 years.

What car is worth more in 3 years - prob the 2017 but the 2017 will have 9800 miles and the 2019 6300 miles give or take. I love the Z07 but have never owned a new Corvette and owned a bunch of perfect used ones.
So in 2021 what is better the 2017 or the 2019. My guess is the resale will be similar as options lose value more than than the car but still the 2017 is a loaded car so its a tough one.
Why these 2 choices? Because I have a trade a 2014 Z51 Convertible and the dealer of the 2017 is giving me a great trade offer and was set to buy the 2017 and a local guy now wants to buy my car so rather than having to buy the 2017 I can get a brand new one. The dealer with brand new ones gives nothing for trade in but great prices on new cars. You all know who they are. The guys with all the cars that love to sell but only take the trade if they can steal them. Hey they have the cars so they can do what they wants but still I need to now decide today and would love some advice from you guys that have prob had to make similar choice at one point of a loaded up used or brand new. I am paying cash so both are at extreme of my budget and the used one is a Cert which helps close the gap.

The 2019 will likely be worth more in 3 years, especially considering it may still have a bit of warranty left. You'd need to find someone that is willing to pay the extra for the Z07 package, IMO, to maximize your selling price.
Buy the car that doesn't need tires at 3500 miles.
Exactly; the new GS! Do you realize what tires being worn out in only 3500 miles implies?
How about the warranties? Seems you are considering everything in making your decision except the obvious and most important.

The 2017 will be more DESIRABLE in the future because its far more loaded than the 2019. Lets even say they remain within the same value range 2 or 3 years down the road...the 2017 seems like it would be much easier to sell just based on the options... Wouldnt you want the more optioned car if looking at a used Vette (if they are only a year or two apart)? Now - even if they 2019 would be worth a little more cause its newer - it still may take longer to sell vs the 2017...
Im not "high and mighty" where I wont buy a used car (just bought a 2014 Z51 / 3LT) - but when I do buy a used car, I want all the bells and whistles...Im sure you do too. Just remember, at a traffic light or at a car show - no one knows if you're the first owner or the third owner...they just see the car.
Im going to agree with the other gentlemen here where they are mentioning needing new tires at 3500 - that means the car was raced, tracked or just beaten on...to me I would look for another highly optioned Vette - but what I mentioned above still applies.

I’d get the 2019 but I’m a little biased. Bought the exact car you’re talking about just one week ago. There’s nothing like a new vette and everyone should do it at least once. You get to take the plastic covers off and you know it hasn’t been damaged in some unknown way.
The 2017 will be more DESIRABLE in the future because its far more loaded than the 2019. Lets even say they remain within the same value range 2 or 3 years down the road...the 2017 seems like it would be much easier to sell just based on the options... With corvettes it really depends. Future Desirability may not matter all that much if you plan to trade in at a dealer. They just put a wholesale number on it and call It a day. Also consider that the 1LT is the highest volume seller. The content in a 1LT is normally more than anyone needs especially if the driver is really after the performance driving experience. The value of the high priced options in the 2lt 3lt trims will depreciate quite a bit more.

The 2017 GS package has thousands of dollars worth of options. As others have said..the cup tires wear down fast because of the soft treads. A 1LT car is not very desirable at all when you consider that the car has very little options, and most likely not be considered highly as a trade later on. This is a no brainer..get the GS 2017 optioned car and ask them to replace the tires. If not, just get the non-cup tires that come on the normal GS. Those tires last longer. Again, for $1000 more your getting a ridiculous package with the 2017. I'd be surprised if it is still there. Good luck

Im struggling so I appreciate the feedback. As far as the tires - they look bald brand new so not sure they need tires but compared to the other regular C7’ - they look bald - they are weird tires - basically road legal slicks - it is also a Cerified Preowned owned so warranty adds another 12/12 bumper to bumper to the end of the warranty and it makes the 5 year 60,000 miles power train warranty a 6/100k and pays for a couple oil changes. Don’t let the tires make you think it’s beat on because my buddy Z06 with Z07 said he baby’s his with 2000 Miles and his cars tire look gone but were not - again they are odd tires but it needs tires I think? I checked quarter panels and all that. No chips to speak of on front or rear vents. It has the full Aero so I think that side skirt protects better than the 3/4 base one does. Honestly this is a tough one - struggling - want to go 2LT with PDK new for $5k more out of range.
Do you find the 2017 car more appealing? The heritage car has some corvette lineage.
Z07 going to ride stiffer. It also has little compromises like if you going to lower the car on stock bolts, it won’t drop much because springs are so stiff.
You would also need to pay $350 to get the MRC upgraded cal in the 2017. The 2019 will come with that from factory.
2019 also gets you a discounted entrance to Ron fellows driving school, which any of us that has attended would say is a must for C7 ownership!
And what are your thoughts on comp seats? I’ve had them twice in my c7’s and wouldn’t buy a car without them. Love the feel and they look incredible. Some have installed them or swapped with owners but certainly easier to get them factory installed

The '17 must have been tracked to need new tires at 3500 miles. I have a '17 GS 2LT but no Z07 package. I've tracked it 10 times and find it more than capable for my skill level. I'd get the new one

i thought that too but when you read about these tires and how they are - they say they look bald with 500 miles on them and at 3,500 miles they are 3/5 gone and these tires 3/5 gone look like 10/10 gone on other tires so trying to take that out of it - they are nothing like regular C7 tires - look at pics on brand new cars with 3 miles - they look smoked brand new so trying to be smart and not let this color my thinking too much but if I’m truly being smart I consider all I can hence asking for your thoughts which by the way I super really appreciate!!!!
