i love the look but never sat in them but I’m not a real big person or spend a lot of long trips so things people don’t like I’m hoping won’t effect these - honestly- I’m psyched at the idea of getting them - one minaute I’m buying the used one then I’m going to new - I think 3 months into it I’ll be happy to have the loaded up car them - I’m just struggling here - on the old fence - toughest Vette call I’ve had. A guess it’s a good problem to have though

Absolutely buy the new one! I can't fathom spending more money, plus having to buy new tires, when you could have brand new for less. They've made some improvements since 2017 as well, for instance the 2019s have a stronger differential (see the thread in the C7 tech section) And with the new one you can take care of it from day one and break it in properly.
I'm a big believer in buying used Corvettes (my first three were used) but only if you end up saving a huge amount of money over new (I generally bought one generation older so it cost half of a new one each time) If the price is roughly the same, new is the way to go.

Brand New, for less? No Brainer. Isn't it just a bit ironic, you bitching about your dealer's trade in offer, and then willing to spend more for used than new? BTW, there's that exploding gas tank warranty on the '17, the “GM recall Special Coverage Program # 17469 which extends the warranty to 120,000 miles, 10 years." that "bonus " warranty supposedly stopped being needed on the 18's and newer.
If you smelt it, GM dealt it
If you smelt it, GM dealt it

what do people think of Convertible Grand Sports? Are they worth less or more? Guy has 17 1LT NAV Chrome Wheel 7MT CPO with 500 Miles about $2000 cheaper than both. Love the 500 miles - Love pressing a button and having roof lower but assume both the i above cars are better value but Verts are so rare compared to coupe wanted you thoughts? Is resale worse or better? Thanks

Unless you're tracking the car and a really skilled driver, the z07 package isn't worth the extra money, and as others have pointed out, you'll be changing out very expensive tires every few thousand miles.
As far as packages, the only gains you get going from 1LT to 2LT are more gauges that show up on your windshield, heated/cooled seats that many say are underwhelming, an extra speaker with the stereo, and front cameras if you can't judge where the front of your car is...
To answer your convertible question, verts sell for a bit more than coupes.
But if all the prices are close, I would buy new - you never know what a used car has gone through, and if you're concerned about resale value in a few years, model year will have a bigger impact than any of the other factors you've mentioned.

i would get the 17. 3lt is so much nicer than 1lt. 3500 miles on cup tires is not bad. put a new set of super sports on it and be done. the warranty will cover anything that may happen.

With corvettes it really depends. Future Desirability may not matter all that much if you plan to trade in at a dealer. They just put a wholesale number on it and call It a day. Also consider that the 1LT is the highest volume seller. The content in a 1LT is normally more than anyone needs especially if the driver is really after the performance driving experience. The value of the high priced options in the 2lt 3lt trims will depreciate quite a bit more.

Buy the one YOU like better. If you listen to everyone here you'd have to buy both.

Does your current Vette have the front cameras? If so, do you depend on them to park? If so, you know how valuable they can be. If not, or you think not having them is no big deal, then by all means, get the new one.

I need to decide today which one to buy - $1000 difference
Leaning toward the new car. What car is worth more in 3 years.
2017 C7 Grand Sport 2LT NAV Z07 AERO Comp Seats Heritage Black Wheels Red Calipers 7MT CERT 3.500 miles Needs tires
2019 C7 Grand Sport 1LT Black Wheels Red Calipers 7MT Brand New
The 2017 is $1,000 more
What car is worth more in 3 years - prob the 2017 but the 2017 will have 9800 miles and the 2019 6300 miles give or take. I love the Z07 but have never owned a new Corvette and owned a bunch of perfect used ones.
So in 2021 what is better the 2017 or the 2019. My guess is the resale will be similar as options lose value more than than the car but still the 2017 is a loaded car so its a tough one.
Why these 2 choices? Because I have a trade a 2014 Z51 Convertible and the dealer of the 2017 is giving me a great trade offer and was set to buy the 2017 and a local guy now wants to buy my car so rather than having to buy the 2017 I can get a brand new one. The dealer with brand new ones gives nothing for trade in but great prices on new cars. You all know who they are. The guys with all the cars that love to sell but only take the trade if they can steal them. Hey they have the cars so they can do what they wants but still I need to now decide today and would love some advice from you guys that have prob had to make similar choice at one point of a loaded up used or brand new. I am paying cash so both are at extreme of my budget and the used one is a Cert which helps close the gap.
Right now I am leaning toward the brand new one but struggling with this one... I want the new one with my head but gut says the used is better but man never owned a new Vette.

If they are truly worn that much you’re probably buying a car that was Tracked and bought for Tracking! Might as well buy a cheap one one the driving schools wholesales!
If your subjective opinion is wrong and you can find out if your getting a garage queen, fine. I would not buy a C7 that was not a minimum of a 2LT for some key features to me!
Worrying about resale is not important, depends more on how you treat it, age and how much the new buyer has to spend! Have sold my prior 4 Vettes on my own, like houses many folks spend what monthly payment they can afford!

OP: Absolutely no offense intended, but IMO you're asking the wrong question. The two cars you mention are quite different - except for the price.
I recommend making a list of what you want in a C7: split the list into 'have to have', 'nice to have', 'don't care', and 'don't want'. Make sure you understand the options that come with each of the trim levels, and don't sell yourself short on whether or not you 'would be okay with ____', or 'it's not the exact color I wanted but it's okay', that sort of thing. A 'good deal' is only good if it's what you really want. A C7 can be largely an emotional buy - don't get sucked into thinking that it has to be one of these two cars. These two are so different in trim levels and perf option (except for price) that it may indicate that you don't really know what you want in a C7 yet - except for price. Not getting exactly what you want (or REALLY close to it) will be an issue after the initial euphoria wears down just a bit. But get what you really want and that feeling will continue for years.
Good luck!!

Great feedback by all - thanks
as far as what I want. - I want a new 2LT with PDR but the extra $6 G’s just puts it out if reach. If budget was no limit I’d be dialing up a 3LZ. I want warranty and a stick and a Grand Sport. It came down to these after much looking - I didn’t not limit to these but a lot of moving parts - if I’m buying used want as low Miles with as many options as possible and new can’t afford the 2LT with PDR. The line is drawn at 1LT new 19 or a loaded up used. I mean I could buy a new 17 or 18 with 2LT PDR but then might as well get a loaded up used 17.
I ve got $59 G to spend - can’t get a Z for that and want warranty.
Guy who said about my bitching about trade $7,500 is a lot money for trade difference so not bitching just stating the obvious. I understand many of you guys are filthy rich. I appreciate that Just not this kid but I love Vettes and have had a mint one in my garage for over 20 years and hope to till day I die but need to be smart about it is all. Back to leaning toward new ,

Me I went with the 3lt. The 1lt just did not have some of the flare the 3lt had with al the optional extras. But buy what you truly want that is the KEY.
