Default The Grand Sport is a very impressive autox car

I have owned my GS for about a month and have done 4 autoxs already. This car is very impressive and it's completly stock. Still on the factory alignment. Here is a crappy video of my car in action.

Yep, Grand Sports are quite impressive in many ways.

That's awesome. My first AutoX in my C7 it was raining. While I was bummed out driving there, switching to PTM Wet transformed the car and made the afternoon a blast.

Did you all swap to DOT 4 brake fluid and 15W50 oil for AutoX? I'm getting ready for my first event later this month and wondering if changing oil to 15W50 and DOT 4 brake fluid would be necessary.

I didn't - but I was by no means pushing the car to its limits and there were lots of cool down periods on a short course. I was just having fun and not being competitive.

I have had the car for less than a month so it's factory fresh, except an oil change at 500 miles. Autox is easy on the car. This event had a big course. 73 second laps and speeds close to 90mph and it didn't even effect the car at all. Tires got a little warm.

Not required at all. Autox speeds and time for a run are relativly low. Brakes will not have time to overheat and the engine will not be stressed anywhere near what it experiences on a track.

Plenty of horsepower plus great suspension plus good brakes plus good tire to pavement contact plus good driver application of power equals XCrosser contender (and LOTS of fun).

I went up against a Z06 and I beat him. Having less weight helps a lot in autox.

Autox is more about the driver than the car. There are people out there that could beat me riding a bicycle around the course.

The Z06 has almost too much HP for XCrossing.

It is all about balance, and effective application of HP to move the car around the XCross course as quickly as possible. Try taking on a really good driver with a Mazda Miata, and he will quickly show you how it's done.

A lot depends on the course too. A tight course and GS gets the win. Wide open fast course advantage goes to the Z06
