Forum Consensus on Front Bra

I bought my C7 as is. Not to cover up that beautiful front end with a (training) bra or a Novistretch. "Yellowing" PPF? Yeah, that went away with purple tint.

Yes, I'm extremely pleased with the install....I got mine done at Mastershield here in Palm Desert (Palm Springs area)...
There are a number of XPEL installers here in SoCal...
Here is the XPEL installer locator..
Make sure you get XPEL Ultimate Plus...Does not yellow and has a 10 year warranty....

And if you wash the bugs off the front bumper after you drive so they don't eat into the clear coat, and you don't tailgate people, you're not going to need a respray for a long, long time.
So while a car not using a bra might have a few chips on the front bumper, it looks a hell of a lot better than a vette with a bra on it. Having said that, this is just my opinion, if you like how a bra looks on a vette then rock the bra all day long dude. But if you think it looks worse with the bra then my argument stands.

It's a heavy gauge vinyl with a soft inner side. fits perfectly. I only had it on once in the rain. Rained heavily for about 15 miles on the highway. After about another 35-40 miles I stopped for, well you know, I'm old and the inner part of the bra was dry. I have never noticed any scratches or wear marks caused by rubbing. Also, it installs without having to tuck felt covered tabs between seams.

How much do you want to make a bet - in 6 months you'll see one of these "I dont need a bra" guy posting "How do I repair paint chips?" or asking "Where's the closet paint shop in my area?"... Your car - your wallet - your decision. But I like my front (like the rest of my Vette) looking new...maybe you just dont care...

You can still get chips from the larger rocks that are thrown up from other traffic. Mine actually had a couple of holes in it. I called the company and no questions asked they replaced it. Great service. The problem with your xpel and any other bra is that they do nothing to keep the bugs and junk out of your ac condenser/radiator. At least the novistretch covers the grill area and keeps that crap out of there. Yes its no "pretty" but its a temporary device with a purpose. I only use it on long road trips such as this years Western Scenic Tour to the Black Hills of South Dakota. From Az its a 1200 mile one way drive. I will have it on for that drive!

Don't worry about the tabs that go between the lights, and fenders. This is the problem with the GM crap bra. What you see here happened within 300 miles on the interstate. I sent the bra back for a refund, and bought the Colgan for road trips (only). It is thicker with a softer/thicker backing, and is designed with straps that hook to the inner fender, and lower part of the air dam to keep the bra from slipping around the fender well. I do have a Novistretch, but I like this bra for the higher speed projectiles that can come at you when running at interstate speeds.

Bras, Xpel, etc. all for that for the possibility of a rock chip that can easily be repaired with drcolorchip or other touchup paints.Been driving new Vettes since 2008 and on the 3 Vettes a grand total of 2 small chips. Big deal but to many owners spending the money to keep it from possibly getting a chip is worth it, certainly is for the next owner who will appreciate it.

Speed Lingerie Hands down! I have one that matches the car stripe included. It had a questionable fit at first run. I contacted Speed Lingerie and they took it back in, made adjustments, and it fits like a glove. Great protection and looks. I have had it on and off for 4 long road trips and so far no paint issues. I am very satisfied.

I don’t care for bras, certainly not for daily use. I have a Novastretch bra that I used for a cross country trip and mostly absorbed bug guts and incidental rocks.

I am scheduled to get xpel ultimate plus installed on my 2016 z51 tomorrow at Mastershield here in Palmdesert, ca. I am just getting it installed on the front bumper only. It replaces the area covered by a bra. That is all I want.
Thanks for all the input.

If by protecting the car you make it look like crap, then YES. What good is keeping the paint under the bra perfect if you never even see the paint because the bra is covering it?
And if you wash the bugs off the front bumper after you drive so they don't eat into the clear coat, and you don't tailgate people, you're not going to need a respray for a long, long time.
So while a car not using a bra might have a few chips on the front bumper, it looks a hell of a lot better than a vette with a bra on it. And I like the front of my vette looking like the front of a vette, not a giant piece of canvas thing covering it up. So, yeah, I care how my vette looks, and since I don't like how bras look, I don't use one. Again, if you like how the bra looks, then rock on - if you don't, then using one simply doesn't make sense because you're making your car look bad because you don't want your car to look bad...
Having said that, I could see using one for special occasions like long road trips where you wont be able to keep the front end clean.

I'll vote with the no bra group. I learned my lesson many years ago on my turbocharged Datsun 280 ZX. The custom fit bra I put on it was ugly and damaged my paint on a trip to Florida. I don't know how today's bras compare but rain on the trip carried grit under the bra which scratched the paint.

bras on corvettes look horrible! i have never used one and have never had to repair front fascia in 32 years of driving vettes. don't tail gate and there is no problem.
