The red Corvette letters on my engine covers are wearing off and leaving the raised letters the color of the covers themselves. Anyone else have this issue, and do you have a solution. I feel repainting them could look very tacky unless done by someone with a very steady hand.

Although I didn't have that problem, I did want to change the color of the lettering. CorvetteMods sell a vinyl decal that comes in colors for about $35. I will say it was a PITA to put on, but it looks really good. It does't answer why it happens but does solve the problem.
Heat will eventually get at the painted corvette lettered area - I finished it off by wiping it all off came off rather easy and cleaned it up with a detailer - looks better without that cheesy red letters - eventually get smoothies - lettering will match the cover color also - keep it simple
