And "tracking the car" can mean different things. The local private track has car shows where they let you lap for 25 minutes but that is hardly a real track day.

I've always felt that less than 1% of C7 owners actually track their cars seriously, which is why I don't believe GM when they say that the reason for the new 0w40 ESP Formula Mobil 1 is to help those guys that track their cars from having to switch back and forth between 5w30 and 15w50.

I tracked my last car on open track days and I will track my Z51 ocassionally as well once it passes the 1500 mile break in.

I have never met a Corvette owner who tracks their car, or drag races it. I have drag raced mine, but I have never seen any other Corvettes at the drags on the days I went. Mine isn't even equipped to go on a track, but does OK drag racing.
I would estimate, anecdotally of course, 2 percent at most. These cars don't have to be raced to enjoy. Some owners of these cars have never even put the pedal all the way to the floor believe it or not. And a good percentage of owners I might say. I just simply can't control myself.

From what I see many are spending days at Cars and Coffee and garage queens. It's crazy to think how many ZR1s that won't see a track.

By the rough numbers, there's about 200,000 C7's out there. Also for rough numbers, there's over 400 tracks and about 100 drag strips, so let's say 500 places to "track". If 1% of all C7's are being tracked (2,000), that's an average of 4 C7's per track (reasonable?). If 10% of C7's are being tracked (20,000), it's an average of 40 C7's going to each track (seems way too high). With that rough math, I have to believe the actual number of people who track their C7's is closer to 1%, nowhere near 10%, and my uninformed guess in the original post was way off....

It's important in the context of frequent arguments, especially on this forum, as to which car is "better" because "track." If the percentage of people who actually track their cars is near zero, as is being guessed here, then the point is completely moot and arguments like that belong in the realm of pure fantasy.

They've sold about, what, 130k C7s? I 100% promise you that more 1300 C7 owners have tracked their cars. I've probably seen about 50 myself And a lot have bought more than 1 C7, so it's probably closer to something like 110k/1100 drivers for 1%.

I bet more than 1300 C7 owners have gone to spring mountain over the past 4 years.

Interestingly many folks who don’t track their cars equip them as if they do.

Not sure what "track" your car means? I've gone to the 1/4 mile "track" with mine a couple times (A8 Base) and actually plan on going next Wednesday night with a couple friends. Test and tune night, and maybe a grudge race or two thrown in. So I guess that means I've gone to the "track" with mine, but nothing serious like actual VIR or Cota driving with track prep etc. Just a little fun.

Very few. I find the prep to be a big hurdle: Change the oil, brake pads, and brake fluid; then change it all back after track days. Oh, and install and then remove the cooling rings.

I'm lucky to be one of the .1% that has a dedicated track car. A 2017 Grand Sport with 4,500 miles, 1,500 break-in and 3,000 track miles. Hopefully I'm not jinxing it but the car has performed flawlessly and is absolutely amazing on the track. Unfortunately most people will never realize how absolutely incredible this car is. Those that have taken the Ron Fellows driving school at Spring Mountain have gotten a small taste of what this car is capable of...

Here in Corvette Fantasy Land 35%.

In the real world, .035%.

The only place I track my car is @ RR crossings.

In my experience, more than you think.
