What percentage of C7 owners track their car?
I searched the forum but was unable to find a thread on this. If there is one, please share the link.
There's lots of forum discussion on the "track worthiness" of the Z51, Grand Sport, Z06 and now the ZR1.
My question is: What percentage of C7 owners actually track their cars, by model. My un-informed guess is:
1) Stingray - 5%
2) Z51 - 10%
3) GrandSport - 15%
4) Z06 - 20%
5) ZR1 - 25%
Anyone know how to turn this question into a poll?

From reading C7, forum? Almost none routinely. Of those that do, almost zero that provide PDRs of any type. And absolutely none, that claim theirs is faster than yours/other models beating those C7s.

Suppose you need to do a poll.

For ALL C7 owners? FAR fewer than suggested here.

No way. Maybe for those that are active on the forums, you'd get close to 5%. Overall populace? I'd say 1% tops, and that's GENEROUS.
I belong to the second largest marquee's owner group in the world, after Corvette (BMW CCA). I have hard data that those in our club of ~50,000, MAYBE about 4-5% actually actively track their car with our organization. This is within a huge pool of active automotive enthusiasts. 4-5%. Tops. On any given weekend in our region, which comprises of 3 of the 10 largest chapters by members nationally, we'd get about 70-90 active participants plus 40 instructors. 130 people tops. That's out of about 10,000 members in the region.
And BMWs comprises of a much larger percentage of on-track cars at most non-marquee events I've been to. I'd say about 20-25% of cars at non-marquee events locally are BMWs.

My question is: What percentage of C7 owners actually track their cars, by model. My un-informed guess is:
1) Stingray - 0.00001%
2) Z51 - 0.05%
3) GrandSport - 0.05%
4) Z06 - 0.05%
5) ZR1 - 0.5%

We have 200+ family members in our Corvette club and I know of only 5 that take there cars to a track being road course, auto-cross or drag strip. More members are weekend car shows types or trips to local winery's; nothing wrong with that at least they are out driving their cars.

Who cares what others do your with their C7s?
What's important is just to get the most enjoyment out of them you can, whether it be tracking, daily driving or just admiring and polishing them.

One or more of the guys claiming how fast their car is are in their 70s, soon to eclipse 80 years old. None of those Track or Street race their cars. At least not that they can prove anyway beating anyone. Lol! They just Rev up their keyboards for these threads. Sad.
