I am amazed by this thread. I have a 1lt with bose and I LOVE it. One of the best car audio systems I have had from the factory (besides the bmw HK setup, which has been my favorite) . My system when it was stock was very crisp and clean sounding with good bass for a factory setup. That being said, I have installed a monster system. Fosgate P3 15" that takes nearly all my trunk space, large slot port box oh boy it is LOUD! I didn't have to upgrade any mids or highs to keep up with this.

I always like to turn the treble up to about 95%, mid range down to 50%, and bass right at about 50% depending on how you like your music. But always the same with mid and treble settings. Maybe your settings are just flat lined, go tinker with them and im sure you will find it can sound really good.

okay...pulled the trigger on the P300 10". Figured what the hell. Can't get it installed till next Tuesday or Wednesday.

I will report back with pics and reports on the sound.

It probably comes from the seat belt buckle in the empty seat rattling against the side of the seat.
