Default ~My next Corvette...do I go for my 4th C7 and keep 67? What will be my 19th Corvette?

~I am always asked two questions 1)what was my favorite car that I have owned? ...well thats like saying which kid is your favorite? 2) and what Corvette is my next? Tough call. The question I ask of myself... is do I go for my 4th C7 and keep the '67?

But I will share in model year order the list of 18 Corvettes that I have owned over the years along with color combo and transmission. (I've also owned 44 Musclecars...battery upkeep was hell)

1959 Convt Tuxedo Black/Red int Black top Stick shift
1961 Convt Tuxedo Black/Red int Black top Stick shift
1967 Convt Marina Blue/ Blue int Black top Stick shift
1967 Cpe Marina Blue/White int Stick shift...>>>"CURRENTLY Own"<<<
1988 Cpe Medium Blue/ Blue int Auto "Owned by Zora Duntov's private Secretary of 25 years" Plenum was signed by Zora!
1988 Cpe 35th Anniv White/White int #131 Auto
1992 Cpe Bright Red/ Black int Stick Shift
1992 Convt Quasar Blue/ White int white top Auto
1993 Convt Torch Red/ White int White top Auto
1999 Convt Magnetic Red/ Black int Black top Stick
2005 Cpe Precision Red/Black int Stick
2005 Convt Millenium Yellow/Black int Black top Stick
2006 Cpe Z06 Lemans Blue/Ebony with Titanium Gray int Stick
2006 Convt Victory Red/ Red int Black top Stick
2006 Convt Daytona Sunset Orange/ Cashmere Cashmere top Stick
2014 Cpe Z51 Laguna Blue/Black int Stick
2015 Cpe Z06 Laguna Blue/ Dk Gray int Stick
2016 Cpe Z06 Laguna Blue/ Twilight Blue int Stick

~14 of the 18 were Manual Transmissions...and 9 of the 18 were Convt's! Both of those stats I did not know until I made this list.<<<
8 of the 18 were Blue and 5 were Red.

I have been selling Corvette's as a Corvette Hobbyist/Enthusiast since 3 weeks before my 18th birthday in 1978! Starting my 41st year selling Corvettes this week July 26th 2018.
The Indy 500 Pace Car Corvette is what got my interest up in Corvettes...yet the 3rd Generation Corvette is the only Generation that I have never owned!

~My guess is the Mid Engine Corvette will be announced this Winter for next Summer production as a 2020 model year. Time will tell.

Buy a ZR1 or get the C8 when it comes out and sale the 67' to me. I was born in '67...so it'll be the right thing to do

Get a C3 so that you can check all the boxes.
Keep it until the C8 comes out.

Mike....whatever you do....keep that '67 you currently own! That is a Corvette treasure. But the C2 does need a garage mate.....I would suggest a Blade Silver ZR-1 with Chrome Wheels for a spell until you can put yourself in a C8!!! Happy Corvetting!

Mike,
In my mind, Corvettes are a way of life for you. I could see you going for a new Corvette notwithstanding funding it, when you're ready to.

Regards the 1967? Same deal - move (sell) it if and when you desire to. 😊

'69 or '68 big block with air or 435

The right resto mod would work also.

Looks like your 67 was a hi way cruiser-if I am reading the window sticker correctly you have the base engine with a 3.08 rear. Appears in great conditioner, loaded with ac, headrests and am/fm probably all correct if not original and my guess matching number drive train. Great car for what it is but a base engine nonetheless. If you can step up to a 350 hp with a 3.70 rear you will have a super street engine. A friend of mine had one which I drove and the feeling of thrust in third beats my c7. I am talking about the sensation not the actual speed. Most fun car I ever drove.

C7s C8s of course you are gonna have them but the 327/350 fully documented with a 3.70 rear is special. Just my .02.

Default The limiter

Your home garage space is the only limiting factor.

IF you ever sell the ‘67, sell it to Tony of Tony’s Corvettes down the street from you. That way you can still enjoy it vicariously on your daily drive by’s.

So, which Corvette will you have at the Spring Mountain tent this year?

Lemme guess . . . it will be an Elkhart Lake Blue something, and I'm gonna guess you're thinking it's time you get back into a convertible.

The 67 is just special. Keep it, if not I call first dibs. I hope that Vette gets into the C2 of the year finalist.

Owning a C3 and a C7 ZR1 would certainly make the bucket list complete. More cred when you get inducted into the National Corvette Museum hall of fame for selling 4000+ Corvettes and being a great ambassador to the sports car community.

Well...a new ZR1 is not in my affordable price range. As far as a 68 goes...I had a deal in place for an all original 68 427/435 Convt with 10k miles approx 20+ years ago
but decided to not go forward. I never would have drove it. Still had the original red line tires on it from 1968!
Elkhart Blue is my color so it may be a 2019...we shall see.

on left is my 2006 Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic next to my buddies Atomic Orange 2008 Corvette Convt.

Another great post! 18 Corvettes that you owned and 4000+ other dreams you made come true.

A note to my fellow Corvette Forum Members. Last week I sent an email asking about a potential issue with my Vette. Although I did not buy it from Mike he did not hesitate to help me out. Speaks volumes about Mike.

I will not hesitate to buy my next Vette from Mike.

Mike - Any reason why you never owned a C3? I can see why considering the mid-70 and C3's tail end run, but what about pre-1973, aka the chrome bumper years?
