It’s all about practice.

Agree. And technique. Drag racing is more complicated than, "Find a track and stand on the throttle," and I'm sure that best times come with a lot of practice.

I have new best time for mine, it's completely stock, on OEM tires, 3/4 of a tank of 91 octane gas and it was about 68 degrees at the time. I only made three 0-60 runs tonight, this was on my third run. I simply launched by slamming the gas to the floor from a dead stop, and the engine bogged a bit off the start since the tires gripped a bit too well on that road, so I wasn't expecting it to be a 3.8 at all. With a perfect launch I think I could see a 3.7. This is a 455hp LT1 (base exhaust) and with the A8/2.41 rear end ratio.

FYI here's a link to a compilation of published 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.

best I could muster was 3.3 top off hot day after long drive. And the car leaves supersoft.. The heatsoak helped I'm pretty sure. I used to pull 3.4s all day.

No where near the advertised 2.95 lol.

The faster you make this car the slower it goes. Now with a CAI installed it's tough to get 3.4s because of wheelspin. Need to practice some after I had it perfected..

I believe the advertised times but they were done on a prepped surface without any doubt in my mind.

Every A 0-Up run in real time PDR on-forum, reflects an RPM-bog. If you Johnny Go Fasts could eliminate that, you'd easily broach 3.0. The 2.95 claim would have to be circumspect quantified, 360°. Every single one of these C7s are crazy quick. Start posting your PDRs that accompany your 0-Up runs.

That's a pretty good time for the LT1, and on 91 octane.

I'm going to have to try it again while running 94 octane (which is very easy to find around here)

Good runs Patman. I switched to A/S 3+ tires and although they ride nice and for my driving are a better choice for me, they don't get quite the bite the OEM MPSS get on launch and are pretty easy to spin. When I do a hard launch the TC comes on pretty quickly and pulls power a little. With TC off launch control on, does the same thing. My best is a 3.9 on the OEM tires. Normal for me now with the A/S's on is about 4.0-4.4. TC off, and peddling is close to the same, so why burn the tires up? It's a great car, maybe not the barn burner drag racer, but fast enough to put most cars (street stock) in the mirror.
When I ran at the strip last year (Test & Tune) some guy next to me in a real POS off his trailer turned a 10.40 next to me and that's like "train lengths" ahead of me with my 12.1. On the way back to the slip tower he yelled out to me: what da ya'll think of ur corvette now?" I yelled back: "I like it, I'm going to turn the air and the XM back on and drive it home" - what a jerk.
