I took my car to the Dealer for an oil change...
They changed my oil, they did not: damage the car, scratch the wheels, tear my interior..
They did what happens 99.9% of the time..
They changed my oil.. (I don’t even know if they over filled it as I have no intention of checking..) and they were even nice and polite....

It's nice to see a non-whining thread about dealer service since that's the experience of most Vette owners. Whiners tend to post about problems while satisfied customers don't.

Your experience is consistent with mine. Haven't had any reportable issues from my dealer unless I want to be picky about fingerprints. I trust my dealer more than most other shops I've been to.

My dealer did scuff my fender quite a bit during one oil change. I went home and polished it out and just mentioned to them the next time to be careful. Never had an issue again and still go back to that dealer. They take pretty good care of me there.

I had the same experience with a dealer yesterday. With a little added attention. When I went out to get the car 3 of the employees were admiring it. They had not seen a SO up close in the sun yet.

Been driving C5/C7 Z06s for 15 continuous years with exclusive service at Chevy dealers, always excellent service. The key is to find a dealership that sells lots of Corvettes and has the support of the local club

Sounds like my service. I drop mine off and they give me a call to let me know it's done. Have enjoyed 2 free oil changes without a problem.

It's nice that some of you have a competent dealer than you can trust to do stuff like that! I'd at least check the level, but if you're that content, more power to you.
The one time I tried to get a freebie, they did most everything wrong including overfilling by a quart or more, forgot I was there waiting on the car, and got grease spots all over the leather interior. So yes...the crappy experiences do happen, too, unfortunately. Back to doing my own after that!

Been using dealers to change my oil on Corvettes for 29 years and 700,000+ miles: Texas, Virginia, Florida, California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Tennessee - never ever a problem.

For those of us with '14's and 15's, the dealer oil change experience was not good in the beginning. So many dealers were using GM Dexos oil, not Mobil One, and too many of them had no idea about dry sumps in Z51 and Z06 either. Let alone fill levels.
Now, all of a sudden, with 2 year free oil changes all used up, My dealer is saying that a lot of owners are not paying for the Mobil One, as apparently, if you don't track your car, the Dexos is more than sufficient. And we know that the dealer makes more selling Mobil One.
So yes, Oil Changes seemed to have come a long way in the last few years.

I had my oil changed this morning at the dealership I bought from. I don't trust a pimply faced kid changing my oil so I printed out dry sump oil change instructions and reviewed it with the service manager and the person doing the oil change. Last time I know they over filled it. This time, all was good.

Ross Downing always does a great job on my car and they have a great attitude both in service and sales. They have the proper equipment to do everything right at the dealership and they are the only dealer in my area with the proper oil all the time.

The one time I used Ross Downing they not only screwed up the job they did on my car, it cost me double to get the job done right at a different dealer. I'd never use their service department.

You don't speak for the 70,000-ish owners of 2014 and 2015 Vettes. I've had my '14 for over four years. Every oil change has been done at the dealer I bought it from (which is in a small town, not a high volume Corvette dealer, and not associated with any Corvette club because there isn't one here) and I've never had any problems at all.

Maybe I don't speak for 70,000 owners, but you only have to refer to this forum to read the many issues that many of us had as dealers learned how to handle these procedures.
Why do you have to make it uncomfortable for some of us to post our opinion, by referring to us as Whiners? Is that what this forum is about for you?

Were you the one that had the bad experience with a Cadillac several years ago? If so, the service department is much better run these days.

What matters is they burnt me for about $500.00, and never made it right. I would never trust them - Ross Downing Chevrolet Cadillac because of that.
