Default GS vs GT350 Shelby

Have recently owned both with manuals - sold them and considering getting one of them again-- real sellers remorse. Am a Porsche 911 guy also.
Both markets- vet/mustang-- in disarray- too many cars on ground and receding demand.
I know this a Vette forum but curious as to thoughts about either car. For me both represent the muscle car era.

C7 is a sportscar, GT350 is a muscle car, which do you prefer?

Both Grand Sport and GT350 are great cars. Ans so are all 911s.

One will corner like a slot car and run 200mph while turning heads everytime you drive it.

The other is just a mustang

If you think the gt350 is just a mustang, then you haven't been in or around one. They are awesome.

The gt350 would leave the Corvette in a race to those speeds. Specially since the GS probably can't even hit 180

I have been around one, a lot more than just one.

Compared to a corvette...it's just a Mustang. The two are not comparable IMO.

Mustangs are comparable to Camaro's and Challengers.

I guess I don't consider the Vette a muscle car, but both are sharp cars.

Personally I like the more exotic look of the Corvette over the GT350. It's also a better performer, so it's a no brainer for me, but it really comes down to personal preference and both are great cars.

Why not just sit tight and see what happens with the C8?

Stop scr#wing around - you're in play school with the GS/GT350.

Get in a ZO6, or, a ZR1.

The Corvettes not bad either. But I agree the new 911 is an awesome car.

Yeah but that GT350 is a very impressive machine. My best friend has a 2017 and on our last group cruise through the winding mountain roads in WV it laid the hammer down! Realistically itís a great car and Iím a Corvette homer. The sound from that engine/exhaust is amazing.

I drove a couple of 911's and I think they are good cars, over rated, and too expensive for what they are. They didn't live up to the hype, but I can see how people would like them, just not me.

If you have to ask, if there’s even a question in your mind, get the Mustang.

For many of us on this forum, well, at least for me, owning a Corvette was a lifelong dream and when the time was financially right for my totally unnecessary and frivolous car purchase, the only car under serious consideration was a Corvette. If someone had suggested maybe getting a Mustang Shelby 350 GT or anything similar, I’d have laughed. I know, I know....some Mustangs can outrun my Vette, yadda yadda, but I don’t care.

When you see a ‘Stang from a distance, it can look like any garden-variety Mustang. You have to get close to read the badging on the car to know it’s the Go Fast model. But when you see a Corvette from any distance, you know right away without a doubt, that you’re looking at a very capable, high-performance machine.

All these cars mentioned suck, now back to my Toyota Prius forum.

Seriously every car mentioned is awesome, just pick one and be happy.

Default Just went though this exercise

Disclaimer: drive what speaks to you.
Iíd been wanting a gt350 since 2016. In fact I ordered one in 2016 but canceled the order when the non-track pack cars had heat issues.
So about two months ago I sold a couple properties and decided I was buying a GT350. I had a 2010 gt500 and loved it. It was a beast. When I told my 15 year old son he said ďwhy donít you buy a vette?Ē I told him Iíd already had several vettes in the past and wanted the mustang, a muscle car. I looked at and drove 3 different gt350s. They were cool and sounded really sweet, but they did not feel quick. Thatís because the rpms need to build first I guess. At low rpms they donít seem to have the torque. I also was not impressed with fit and finish. Hoods were crooked, and bumpers had uneven gaps. That kinda stuff bothers me.
So...then I decided maybe a zl1 Camaro might be cool so I drove one of them. It was an automatic and I didnít like the trans feel. I really wanted to like the car but it just didnít do it for me.
So I happened to drive by the local Chevy dealer and they had a new 2017 Grand Sport siting out front. I stopped and looked and it was impressive. White with a spice red package, 3LT, manual 7 spd. Beautiful car. The sales guy asked if I wanted to drive it so I did. End of story. Itís sitting in my garage. It was quick, loud, luxurious and loaded with tech. A sports car and luxury car. I know I made the right decision FOR ME. The car speaks to me.
Drive what makes you happy. Donít worry about anyone else.

If you like Ford, then wait until next year and get the new GT500, although the ADMs will be insane. At least the thievery has faded on the GT350, however, I’ve seen some lingering on the GT350R. The ‘19s have been tweaked... grille, rear spoiler & gurney flap, interior updates, and the availability B&O Play.
