I use the silicon one.

Pros
- Protects the FOB from scratches
- Doesn't slide out of my pocket or on the table

Cons
- Thicker in my pocket
- Doesn't slide around in my pocket (sticks to everything)
- Is not dog proof

Mine was unlucky.. key was sitting in lap and just moved car a few feet back on my steep driveway so I could wash it. As I got out, key fell off lap and onto ground and my right foot stepped on it at the same time and dragged it on the driveway a foot.....

I have the same one. The previous owner already had it on the fob when I bought the car. For what it's worth, i think it's a little more Red than candy apple red.

They're on ebay.

The eBay one looks like mine and my son got it for me for Christmas. It's not a perfect match but very close to Crystal Red.

Don't use a cover on mine. Never gets scratched plus my pants already has a big bulge sticking out of it.

95% of the time I place the fob in the holder under the steering column, so a cover wouldn't work.
Frankly, we don't have covers on any of our 5 cars that use fobs, and none have gotten significantly scratched or damaged - although the wife did lose one at Costco, and I doubt a cover would have helped.

Probably not a solution for everyone, but many of us live in blue jeans (I am retired military - my uniform now is blue jeans) and as such I put whatever FOB I need into the 'watch pocket' of my blue jeans. You can't even tell it is in there and that leaves your pocket free for change, nuts bolts or whatever.

Yup, used it for years ('cept mine is blue) (and one nice thing is it makes "pocket dialing" a thing of the past too)
