It doesn't look like your 4 post is bolted to the cement slab. Is that correct? I always thought that they needed to be bolted down.

The Direct Lift that I have can be bolted down or free standing. Mine has been free standing since I set it up.

I use a Direct lift for storage and commercial Rotary Lifts (2 and 4 post) for working on my vehicles. 12’ ceiling, garage door can open while lift is all the way up.

For the 9STX, you get max capacity only with 133" wheelbase, and 75% capacity at 115" wheelbase. For the 7W, max capacity is at 115" wheelbase. 9,000 * 75% = 6,750. So the 9,000 lb lift has a LOWER capacity than the 7,000 lb lift at "normal" wheelbase figures. I'm leaning toward the 7W now (and it's a couple feet shorter).
What are you putting on this lift? My 9STX is very well built and designed. You might be overthinking this IMSO. I knew that I would never be over taxing it but I really wanted it because it had great vertical. I'm 6'3" and wanted to be able to walk under it without bending over. I spent way too much time researching this purchase.

I agree about the over-thinking part. So much info out there and lots of choices. My main criteria are width and height. I just thought it was interesting that BendPak's rating system showed that odd result. I'll mainly have my '17 Z06 up there (need the wider lift).

Direct Lift. Going on about 15 years old. Moved it once since I got it and haven't had the first problem with it. I use it for routine maintenance, small to moderate projects and, of course, storage. The ceiling is 12' on that end of the garage and there's plenty of room.
