4 Post Lift - Feedback and Photos request
Hey guys, I'm looking into putting in a 4 post lift in my garage.
What lifts do you all have, do you like, would you reorder and please post any photos.
Thanks in advance!

I have had a Backyard Buddy 4-post lift for about 27 years....has been perfect until recently, the seal on the hydraulic cylinder has a small leak.....maybe a drop or two every few times the lift is used.

I just installed the Atlas Garage Pro 9000 ext wide, ext tall. Directions could have been a bit clearer but love the lift. Plenty of width clearance, came with a caster set so it can be moved. Only moved it slightly after it was installed but moved with very little effort. Have it a normal 10' garage and can lift the car high enough to walk under it. Would buy again.

I have had a Bend-pak HD-9 for a few years, and I love it. they make a wide version, which would be a bit better for a Grand Sport, but mine still fits. A little nerve-wracking keeping it centered, but I'm getting used to it. Uses 220V, and requires a compressor to operate the safety locks.

I have three lifts, one I bought about 15 years ago made here in the USA but no longer in business and two Bend Pak HD9s that I bought in 2010 just before they moved production outside the USA. I really like the Bend Paks and would still buy one again even though they are now made in China. A good friend of mine has one of their offshore mfg. units and the quality is still as good as mine are. I did a lot of research before buying my units and can tell you there are cheaper units but the quality is just not there. The air locks on the Bend Paks can be considered a pain by some because you need a compressor but I have never had an issue with them and they are a good safety factor and much better than the lever and rod approach most others use to release the locks. Working under a lift you want a quality unit and if you look at what's on the market you can see the difference, just do your homework and you will be happy. There are several great mfg. of lifts so look around and then pull the trigger. They sure are nice to have so good luck in your quest.

I was told by a lift installation guy that if I ever get a drip like you mention to go to a Caterpillar heavy equipment dealer and buy a bottle of their hydraulic leak stop. He said it works real well in heavy equipment and should help with what you have going on. I haven't needed it but thought I would share the tip.

Quality Lift. I also purchased 3 large drip trays and the rolling hydraulic jack. What ever brand you buy, get the tallest lift so you don't have to duck your head when you walk under it.

Thanks! I've been looking at the BackYard Buddy as well. I want the absolute safest lift possible. It seems well made but much more $ than the competition. May just be one of those "you get what you pay for" things!

A non XL 7000 lb lift. Bigger is obviously better but I bought this for my 4th Gen Camaro and C4 and the widebody C6Z and C7Z will just fit. But it works even though half of each rear tire hangs over air.
And here it is when new and located in Scottsdale

I have a Direct-Lift Pro Park 8S. I've had it for 8 or 9 years and have zero problems with it. I have an 11' 8" ceiling height and can put either the C7 or the ZL1 on the lift, put the lift all the way up, and still have space to open and close the garage door.

Advantage
I've become partial to the Advantage lift brand.
Dad bought one of these at a show a few years ago.
https://advantagelifts.us/4-post-lifts/SS-9000XLT-Extra-Long-Tall-Four-Post-Lift
It had what I consider good, servicable instructions, as well as online assembly videos that were up to date, and customer sevice that answered the phone with a human being; durring business hours anyway.
Biggest regret, a seperate individual conned my dad out of buying the 220V high speed pump.(not related in any way to Advantage)
Whatever brand you buy, splurge for the faster pump if you have any possible way to get 220V, yes single phase.
It may only seem a minor anoyance now, but change vehicles twice in one day and you'll understand what I mean.
FWIW at least with Advantage, they come down the same speed no matter which of their pumps you have.

I was looking at the HD-9STX as opposed to the HD-7W. You'd think 9,000 lb rating would be a higher rating than a 7,000 lb lift. Then there's the fine print. For the 9STX, you get max capacity only with 133" wheelbase, and 75% capacity at 115" wheelbase. For the 7W, max capacity is at 115" wheelbase. 9,000 * 75% = 6,750. So the 9,000 lb lift has a LOWER capacity than the 7,000 lb lift at "normal" wheelbase figures. I'm leaning toward the 7W now (and it's a couple feet shorter).
