Automatic or Manual Transmission?
#42
Maybe smaller pool of buyers, maybe not, since the manual cars will be a lot harder to find for those of us that prefer a manual. I can't believe so many guys that are reluctant to order a Corvette, my ZO6 took just under 8 weeks from order date until I took delivery. I wanted a manual, and since I was spending big $$$ for the car I wanted it EXACTLY the way I wanted it, no compromises.

Remote Start
It's been a really hot summer here in TX and the remote start feature comes in handy to cool down the car. This is only available with the A8.

I wouldn't trade my manual Z07 for a automatic for NOTHING. Sure the auto is a faster, but there is nothing like shifting through the gears with a third pedal. Paddle shifting, more of a joke.
Seriously, the manual transmission is a dying breed, DC autos are just [plain better, but to me, you lose the connection to the car. Again, there is nothing like shifting through the gears manually.
I'll keep the auto in my Silverado and the manual in my sports car where it belongs...

Hard to believe someone needs someone to tell them what kind of transmission to get in their car. Kinda like asking an opinion in which hand to use when using the restroom. I like manual's, but other might not.

Hey Ozz - Im a huge fan of your videos - thanks for always sharing. I will admit that I would have bet you were a manual tranny type of guy... I could have sworn your C4 was stick too...
Interesting points you made - I went 7-spd on my Z51 and although its definitely some work to drive a C7 manual - I do enjoy it, especially coming from an automatic C5...just wanted to try something different...next Vette - Ill go color and ZO6 and not care which tranny it has...

Haha if only GM ran a buy one get one free promo!. :-) My '93 which I bought from the original owner had an automatic. I fell in love with the color and the originality. It has an automatic so I had to go with it. The new C7 Grand Sport I purchased new and the A8 was a decision I purposely made. Take care.

But you have so many more posts than I do Kracka? If my math is correct it appears you are doing way more social media than me. Thanks for making me self aware that my YTube channel has a total of 3.7+ million total views and the auto repair vids I have produced have helped literally thousands of people. Glad to help out with positive attitude. . -Glen

If you're unable to drive a manual transmission Corvette for any reason, you're missing out on a fun part of driving a Corvette.

I am always amazed when someone asks what color should I get, which color wheels are best or auto or stick. Nothing wrong with asking, but do you want what you like or what the majority of a few dozen other people like who will not have to live with it or pay for it?

Like I said, if I'm spending the $$$, no compromises. I love the M7, but the factory linkage was just "so so", and I replaced it with an MGW shifter, had one on my C6 GS and loved it, same for my new ZO6.

This is the pool I dived in - I've waited quite awhile to get a car like this; what's 6-8 more weeks considering the amount I'm going to spend on it? Definitely ordered mine, no questions asked. Whether to order or not is also situational to the customer, but way more important to me than a decision on transmission and can be (in a sense) more rewarding. For me, the trans was one of the more easier decisions. Totally agree with you.
