I'm thinking of installing a new HU in my C6 and saw a few guys in the audio section installing the C7 rear camera on the C6 and back to a new HU.

While looking up the part number for the rear camera, I saw a front camera listed as well. What does the front camera do and how is it activated on the C7?

There are two types of front cameras - one on either side of the grill to see near the front of the car and one facing forward in the rear-view mirror.

The front proximity cameras can be turned on when moving forward at 5 MPH or less. Either by an icon on the display or automatically when shifting from reverse to forward.

The front-facing camera in the rear-view mirror It is used to record driving if the Performance Data Recorder option is installed.
