Can I Get a Definitive answer on Magnetic Suspension Ride Control?
I am seeing so much contradicting and confusing misinformation on the MSRC...
Does anyone have a definitive answer: Is MSRC included in the Z51 Stingray or is it a separate option?
If I am looking at a vehicle and I see that little control **** on the console just behind the the shifter, is that the MSRC Controller?
(ie. if that **** is there is has MSRC, or is that **** present on all Stingrays to control other vehicle settings?)
I am not just talking about the newest 2019 models but more specifically about the 2016 and 2017 model years.
Thanks for your help!

MSRC, is a $3,400.00 +/- option on a Z51. Trust me - you want it.
The round control dial on the console does not mean the C7 has MSRC. However, the round dial does control the ride on an MSRC C7, that has MSRC.
The Z51 option is a kick *** value added option. About $5K.
If you're into street racing or track racing - trust me, you want it! 👍

Thanks for the information, is there any visible way to tell by looking inside the cockpit? Is the **** difft with MSRC?
I am shopping for a used corvette and unfortunately a vast majority of dealers don't list out the options forcing you to contact them and waste time.
Also most don't give the glovebox label that supposedly will let you decord all the options.
Would be nice if there was an easier way to spot it on ad photos...

Jeez, hope I don't have 3 of the same reply, not seeming to keep my responses, so I will try again.
Is there an easy way to tell if a car is equipped with MSRC? Are the ***** visually different?
Its a PITA while shopping for a used corvette to continuously have to contact the dealer/seller to ask that question as many don't list the options or don't have the window sticker to see if it is listed...

Pop the hood, if there are wires coming from the top of the shocks, they're MSRC . If you are not there in person have the seller do the same and take a picture.

Easy, ask the dealer/seller take a picture of the RPO sticker. If you see the RPO code for magride, then it has it unless the owner purposely swapped it out.
Otherwise, visually you will see it under the hood a small black cable going to where the front shock tower would be. if no cable anywhere there, its not magride.

The easiest way to confirm your choice has the Magnetic Ride Control option is to look under the hood. It's also coded as "FE4" in the RPO options list which is under the carpet in the trunk... or maybe it's still on the glove box door(?), I can't remember which.
This first photo shows a Z51 without the MRC/FE4 option. You can see the shock towers which I've outlined in red. (sorry; my graphic arts skills are rudimentary to say the least) Right click each image and choose "view image", then hold the CTRL key on your keyboard and repeatedly hit the "+=" key until the image is enlarged to your satisfaction so's you can see the towers easily.
The photo below shows the electronic connector to the MRC/FE4 electronic shocks; you can plainly see the wire connected to the shock towers.

Melting Slicks
Easiest way is look at your SPID - if you have FE4 (as mentioned above) then you DO have MagRide - I also think its a good idea to then look under the hood, because as "amuseti" stated, its possible, a previous owner may have swapped out suspension so reference the great pictures posted by "dork"...

For a quick summary of the driving modes available via the control dial and what the modes affect, take a look at pages 201-203 of the 2017 owner's manual:

Joe is wrong on another point. MSRC is a $1795 list price option on the Z51 and has always been so. On the base (non-Z51) car. MSRC was first offered in 2016 as RPO FE2 for $3495 and included MSRC, Z51 19/20 wheels/tires and the Z51 style spoiler in the price. Since 2019 IIRC, FE2 has been $1795 on the base car and is for MSRC only.
