Default Car check - Hopefully last one - any red flags

Hey Guys,

I found a car I am interested in Houston, TX. It has the Kalahari like I want. I am hoping it comes down between this car and the one I posted about earlier. Just want to see if anyone sees any red flags.

https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...talRetail=true

Carfax is on the site above. See the buildsheet and VIS report attached.

Thank you very much.

PS. If you live near by and want to check it out, please PM me. Its located at Houston Auto North.

$42k-$46k for this car in my area, according to KBB. Price seems like there's some room to negotiate. For me personally, that Kalahari interior with yellow interior is really jarring...not a good combo. But it's not about what I like...it's your money. How do you feel about yellow? It's a polarizing color.

I don't know what you mean by its polarizing, but I love yellow cars! And I love the look of the kalahari interior. I will negotiate. There is a 2015 with pdr that that is 3k less. So I should have wiggle room assuming they are not in it deep.

Don't even waste your time with peoples comments about the colors. The colors are yours to chose and yours only. It's a Z51 with 2LT trim decent miles in good condition with a good Carfax. I can't see anything wrong with it. Make an offer. As was mentioned you probably have some room to negotiate. All they can say is no.

Not (absolutely) sure what he meant but I think he means that yellow is a bold color and that people either like it or don't like it--that there is little middle ground. Polarizing meaning you see it and you go one way or the other... Hope this helps.

Good point but the Carfax shows a totally clean title if you trust it.

You just never know. The last car I looked at had 22k miles and 3 of the 4 mad shocks were leaking, the air damn was ripped, etc. Dealer didn't disclose, two different members on here told me about it when they volunteered to go check it out. After confronting the dealer with their findings, he wouldn't acknowledge any of it. They still have it for sale, every two weeks it comes down another $500.

Please do. I would greatly appreciate it. Do you know anything about the dealer?

How do I check for that if the carfax is clean? I said it had two owners and if I remember correctly, its CPO status ended in July.

I would hesitate to purchase a car from anyone that didn't know the difference between "bye" and "buy".

Your "spotters" should try to ascertain whether the 2014 z51 has the original co-cast brake rotors or have been upgraded to the newer two-piece rotors. Shouldn't be hard to see, old is dull, new is shiny. GM did this because, well, nobody likes a pedal that drops to the floor after repeated hard braking.

So I went over there this morning and unfortunately the car is off to their private service department for inspections and clean up. So its not there onsite. I was told it would be back on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. In the meantime here's a pic of the popcorn machine that I kept helping myself to …

The thing that I question, and it may be nothing, is I don't see any oil changes until the end of the CarFax report. IIRC in '14 GM didn't call for the 500 miles first oil change in the Z51's, but I don't see any. Stingray, don't let that scare you off the car, but it's just something that caught my eye. Good luck, and I'm one that thinks yellow, and Kalahari look good together.

These guys have way to many nice vehicles over there to be pedaling a bs flood car.
There's a Maserati in the showroom.
If there's a problem with this outfit, its that pretty much everything is somewhat over priced, which is normal for Houston.

If you like it, it's worth maybe 42k. For me, no warranty, 15 16 17's are close in price. 2016 is the sweet spot right now. I would pass. Like the man above said, yellow/tan doesn't help it. Doesn't matter if your buying or selling, it's a fact.

Don't fall in love, zillions of these for sale.
