Default An honest sale point

I currently have my 2014 Stingray for sale. The car is a 1LT automatic car in torch red. It has the 6 speed automatic. The car has the optional red calipers and tinted targa top. The aero package has the spoiler and track features, but not z51. The car only has 27000 miles with good-excellent condition tire and not modifications. What would you realistically accept for the car in cash? Mind you, the tax benefit in getting a trade in value for a vehicle (alabama). The car is extremely well kept, with no damage, and always paint conditioned.

I will say, I have turned down 38k cash for the benefit of trading in. I want to make a real market decision before the mid engine hits the market to keep capital.

I always check Kelly blue book and NADA when I sell a car.

You need to realize it’s going on 5 years old. Also A 1LT.No options besides it being an auto. It’s not getting any younger.

$38k sounds like a great deal when for $10k more you can get essentially your car new. When I was shopping, I saw a number of 2017 1LT autos for $48-49k.

My feelings exactly. That was a decent offer.

You would do well to take that cash offer.

Agree with the others 38k is a good price for a 5 year old 1LT equipped Corvette.

I agree that given the current state of new car discounts 38k is a decent offer. If the op got an early 14 he probably paid close to msrp and is measuring offers against that number.

If somebody puts $38K in your hand, close your fist.

Yep, $38K was a decent offer, don't think you'd get any more if it were a 2LT. At 5 years old it really doesn't make much difference unless you have a 3LT with shrunken/cracked leather dash.

You should have taken the $38K.

Agree. This seems more than fair. Looking at kbb.com for my area I find a trade-in value for this car of $33K-$36K--and kbb is known for skewing slightly high according to a saleman I knew.

I would take the offer and save the time and expense of a private sale that might end up not netting more than $38K and a trade-in that likely would be closer to the range I mentioned from kbb.

I paid 35k OTD in November at a dealership for my 2015.
I personally think 38K for a 2014 is crazy. You guys put too much value in a plastic car with a small customer base.

If I could resell my car today for 35K, it would be GONE!
If I could get 30K maybe.

2017 1LT Stingray, 2205 miles on it. $44,500.00. 38 seems pretty fair to me for an 14.

that 38k is gone I presume.
Trade in shouldn’t go over top of kbb range unless you’re buying an expensive car.

38k was a good offer. I looked at a 14 2LT m7 with 22k miles for 38.5 k and passed. I could only get 21k for my 12 C6 1LT

If you are being offered 38k from a dealer for trade in and you will get the tax savings, that's probably not a bad deal for a 2014 1LT auto non-Z51 car.

I would have offered you 30K Green Cash if I was buying. You should have run like rabbit with thorn in paw for 38 large. especially green. It's 1 LT stick. Probably has ugly black rims and the good thing is the 22 K miles. Maybe an xtra G for the 22,000. but you had a big sucker fish on the hook and he snapped off.
