Melting Slicks
Removing the interior is not that big of a deal. It took about three hours. This 65 year old man did the complete install in about 12 hours. Took several breaks to rest the old back. The reaching and bending was the only hard part. For most good things in life a little effort is required.

C7 vert with the top up is much quieter than the coupe with the top on. Is either one as quiet as the Camaro, or any other sedan? Nope. While you can install sound deadening mats in the coupe, it still won't make it as quiet as those other cars. I can't comment on ZP vs non-ZP tires as I've not compared them and don't care to risk driving with no spare so I stick with ZP tires.

I added Blockit behind the seats and the Blockit mat in the hatch area. I then soundproofed the rear wheels wells using Dyamat Extreme.
The car is very quite now. In fact before I soundproofed I had to turn the radio volume up half way to hear it. Now I can hear it with only 25% volume.

Actually, I didn't notice any improvement in the ride; and the noise stayed the same.
On our long Southwest trip last winter, the 2LT sound system and iPod combination was nice around town but almost useless above 70 mph. Even with a trunk full of luggage to help muffle the echo chamber effect.

My experience is that tire noise is dependent largely on the road surface, with smooth asphalt being nearly Cadillac quiet while rougher pavements set up an annoying rumble.
I found the road noise objectionable, and installed Block-It mats that cut down the overall noise level between 2 - 5 dB. The most noticeable effect was that the mats attenuated the echo chamber effect from every thump of the rear tires thru the cargo floor, off the rear window to the front seats, which is a significant improvement. Since the mats are installed behind the seats, the front tires still generate significant noise on rough surfaces, but I have learned to ignore it most of the time.
