Service Check - Corvette World and Corvette Doctor
Hey Guys,
I found a car in Houston i really like, but I live in Indiana.
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...red-flags.html
I want to have the car inspected by experts before I fly down. I contacted both Corvette World (AKA Corvettes of Houston) and Corvette Doctor in Houston. They both do inspections. Corvette World - $120\Corvette Doctor - $115.
Does anyone have experience with any of these two service departments?
Thanks.

Corvette World, from everything I've heard and read about them in Texas, is a shady operation. Never heard if the other place.

The car doesn't have a Carfax??

No. Unsolicited hearsay - just read it here on - forum too many times. If your boy in Houston doesn't know about Corvettes of Houston/Dallas/Austin's negative reputation, he's not been around very long - into Corvettes.

Corvette World in Houston installed a Corsa Extreme exhaust on my Stingray. The work was done well at a very good price for both the exhaust and the install. I will also be taking my car there for oil changes now that I'm done with my free dealer oil changes. I don't have anything negative to say about them as my experience has been very positive.

Asked yourself why you're pushing so hard on this guy? You took half a day off and are guaranteeing the member in Indiana, that the car perfect. You even guarantee that the car wasn't flooded. How about your reputation? You sound like you're in on the sale with the car lot. Are you??

Get the Chevrolet dealer's GM, diagnostic computer to tell you what the car tells them. Your car may have been modded right out of warranty. Only a GM Chevy dealer will tell you! . What have you got to lose?
If the C7 is way less $ than any place else. There's a reason why.

Did you even read my posts ?
Id love to hear your description (or anyone else's) of my reputation here on this forum.
To answer your question directly, I am not affiliated with the seller in any way, and I have no financial interest, or anything to gain in this transaction, beyond the fact that if I can be helpful, then I would like to do so.

Corvette World of Dallas has a good reputation around here as far as I'm concerned. I'd have no problem using one of their locations for an inspection.

I think there are other non-dealer choices in Houston; I'll look them up in my files. As to dealers, do your homework on here in Advanced Search and find the good CORVVETTE dealers in Houston and call them---the Serv. Dept. ASk them about doing a check on the lift of a Corvette. NOT before you get there, when you get there. With you, and the owner.
But before you get there you should be able to do, CarFax, AutoCheck, VIS, dozens of fotos, telephone conversations with owner, etc. Then, you fly in, ready to buy AFTER test drive, AFTER up on lift check by trained tech, etc. Then, it's on to bank to make/transact the deal. That's how I'd do it. Matter of fact, that is how I did it.

Sorry, I need to explain that my car WAS from a private party, not a dealer. On another car (not a Corvette) the person left her phone (call home) number in the frequently dialed portion on the screen (nav) and I got one that way. Another CPO car that I recently got (also not Corvette) had been "wiped clean" so no further info existed on prior owner from a dealership.
