Only if you can pin the failure to the car. It looks like it is Car Play's fault, not the car's. Android has similar issues. And for the record the Waze you get with Android Auto is not the same as you get directly off a phone. There are several features that are not available on the Android version.

I've only had my new C7 for a week and I have the same 50/50 experience using Apple car play. And sometimes it just connects and starts playing music from my Spotify with the Car play app screen not available? Weird. Thought I would like it but I don't. I am using a new Apple cord so it ain't that. Also if Carplay is engaged and working is it supposed to knock your I-phone off of bluetooth? Mine does and then it seems the voice dialing does not work. Maybe were all better off with out this stuff although I have to say my wife's Mazda CX-5 handles all of this stuff perfectly. Hmmm.

I have had cars where the Apple cord is 100% the issue. Don't rule it out without trying other cords first.
I have also had cords in the Android Auto world that worked fine on one car and not in another... Or stopped working after several months for no apparent reason.
Fundamentally - cords suck

Ditto. Thought I was screwed after I bought the magnet mount until I looked at the ceiling. Put the mount just above the rear view mirror and it works perfectly w/ waze. Gotta love Waze’s warning of any upcoming road hazards...definitely saved me from more than a few ticket...I mean, potential hazards!

It's funny to me because Waze was so good, but by the time they finally got it under Carplay, Apple had frantically improved Apple Maps to the point where I actually prefer it, so now I don't use Waze anymore! They are about the same for routing and live traffic and so on, but the Apple has better lane guidance I think (which lane to be in, and the diagrams for it).

I use an Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S8) for this but how it works is you plug in the phone via USB, then a white arrow icon lights up on the home screen. After you launch that (perhaps granting permissions on the phone screen the first time) you will see some icons at the bottom. The one on the far left is a navigation icon,. Pressing that quickly once will bring up your default navigation app which is Google maps. To see what other apps are available press it and hold a few seconds. She thing works for the headphone icon for music. Pandora, Plex, and other apps can be accessed that way.

Waze is great for speed traps, hazards, debris, etc...but I’m not a big fan of it’s turn by turn navigation. Both Apple and Google are faster.

You can also long press the voice button on the steering wheel and give the nav command (maybe what you meant). Waze can also b enabled directly for voice commands in its settings so you can simply say “ok Waze”.

For you Apple guys iOS 12 is possibly on its last and most solid beta and is available for public use. I just put my iPad pro onto it yesterday. If you want to try Waze with it here's the link.

Waze isn't there in Beta. I just updated a few days ago.
