Well I guess the 2015 & 2016 Z51 Corvettes won't be getting the Upgrade for Track setting with the Magnetic Shocks....

Jim Mero wishing you many happy retirement years. Thank you for the incredible work you did on "our" Corvette to make it the car it is. You did an incredible job and I'm one Corvette guy who appreciates you and wishes you the very best in retirement. No more "green hell"! You sure did take us on some thrilling rides around that place....that I'll miss!

I'm probably in the minority, but this makes me happy. He was too much "race car driver" and not enough "engineer."
Not a fan (as an engineer) with how he tuned the car. On the C7 unless you run in track mode (and in PTM), his influence is less. He didn't care to tune the road feel, focusing on how the car performs at the track. Like a race car driver....

BTW, if you ever want to see a slightly bigger than most home screens will show it, the National Corvette Museum has a vid of Jim Mero piloting (I think it is) a ZR1 around Nurburgring from in-car cam---someone correct me if I'm wrong about the car. Great to see it from his perspective.

I found the ride and handling on the C7 to be as close to perfect as one could expect given what the car was designed, engineered and built for and the extremely wide customer base. And remember that there are several versions of the C7 catering to all levels of the driver's "wants and needs".
He did a great job and is to be commended for helping to bring a damn good, great handling and affordable sports car to the enthusiast and the and masses.
Enjoy your retirement....you earned it!

You missed my point. Mero DIDN'T tune the base car. He officially approved it, but he only cares about Track Mode and PTM.
At GM supplier engineers do most of the actual tuning work. The GM ride and handling guys just approve the final result. The steering in Touring and Sport was tuned by a guy named Scott Montgomery who worked for Bosch. He also did the track tuning but with Mero in the car for that one.
GM likes to make it seem like their engineers do more than they actually do. They lean heavily on the supply base, since they pay to have what we in the industry call "Full Service Suppliers"
