How Much Oil Pressure
Curious on how much oil pressure your showing once your engine is at operating temperate? As you can see from the pic, it appears I'm running a bit over 30 - when engine is cold, it's closer to 40.

That’s more than enough at 1,500 RPM.

Yep the C7 has what other manufacturers are also now using a "Variable Volume" oil pump. No longer is it just the rpm the crack and therefore the oil pump is turning and a pressure relive spring/valve that bypasses the oil pump to keep a max pressure at higher rpm. That isn't optimum for low energy use.
They actually vary the "pump volume" so when less oil is needed less volume is used that results in lower pressure and less energy use. It's all computer controlled, like most other things in the C7!

That is about what mine shows. I’d say normal.

Funny revival of 2018 post. Same questions coming re C8. See post #5 for why and how it's done.
Like everything else in modern cars it's computer controlled, in this case to reduce wasted energy. That is unlike the totally rpm dependent with spring controled bypass on oil pumps of old!
