Yeah, the new orange is just OK ( IMO ). When I finally made the decision to order, it was too late for DSOM (which I think is a richer color). I traveled to look at Sebring Orange in person and still decided against it, especially after seeing LBR Metallic in the sunlight there.
Thanks for the comparison !

All personal taste . . . Sebring Orange is the color orange should be, and I never liked the rusty oranges. I'm crazy in love with SO.

I think that Sebring Orange really "pops" I like it a lot compared to the past orange castoffs.

Funny Orange Car Story
From around that era, my first new car was a 1967 Corvair. Ordered with every HD option available that included quick steering, HD suspension etc. My Uncle was the service manager at a large Chevy dealer at the time and when I picked this purple color that looked good on the color chip he said, "I wouldn't it looks muddy in person." Didn't listen and ordered it and metallic brakes he also warned against!
I recall after a month (recommended to wait that long in the day) after waxing I drove to the gas station and a fellow came up and said "Bet that looks good when you wax it!" Uncle was right, it did look muddy! Saw wider Continental 714 tires at the NY AutoShow I had to have but the minimum size was 14 inches when "low profile and plus 1" were not words used! After a lot of measurements and finding the right aluminum wheels bought what were low profile Continental tires that fit well and handled great. But what to do about that color? At the time "Hugger Orange" was an "in color" and I wanted a "bright" color. The car was always parked outside and paint had some water spots and tree sap so went to a cheap national paint store and orange looked fine on the chip!
When painted it was MUCH brighter than expected. It almost glowed! Looked like what the police on traffic duty use for vests! All my friends were always joking! It got tree sap and found out it would not come off the enamel paint that was used. Went to the body shop that did some work on my 1st car, a '41 coupe. Asked about having it repainted and once the owner saw the enamel paint, he said, "The only two options: 1) strip it down to bare metal or 2) have it repainted by the national cheap paint job company!" On my budget took the latter option and had it painted silver by the same company who pained it orange! I removed the chrome and installed the original 13 wheels and warn out tires (those cheap paint shops use a round carboard disk to cover the wheels and tires but some spray gets on them!) Car looked great! Kept it until 1974 when I bought a 260Z and had those Continental 714 tires installed on Minilite type wheels!

One other note, DSOM never sold well, but according to a well-known guy who has sold more Corvettes over the years than anyone else on the planet, right now SO is one of the top 3-4 colors. It has dropped red down the list, and far surpassed GM's order projections.

Can you ask your "well known guy" how CMGM is doing please???

CMGM is a beautiful color when it is accented properly (wide body black wheels mirrors, stinger etc.) like on the carbon 65's and the Corvettes918 ZR1
