Really depends on color choice and the look you are going for. Here's my C7 Grand Sport and C6 Z06 for comparison.

You guys are good sheep. Accept the meager choices GM offers you. Dare to stray?

There's the "pop" and "contrast" everyone wants...

You can actually see them from a distance and they we no extra charge. If I get tired of them I can always get them powdered coated.
Brilliant minds think alike!

I wish I could find the Corvette reviewer who said he was "confused" by the chrome rims on the Corvette. He said chrome should never go on a sports car. HIS words, not mine so don't flame me!
I think to answer your question - most owners who prefer chrome, feel that a black rim on a black tire (and if the have a darker colored exterior) feel that there is no contrast between them - dark wheel + dark tire = no contrast. When we say "pop" it means it allows us to "see" where the wheel ends and the tires begins - it adds a bright, visible contrast.

Sorry but I prefer black. With the Tan interior I would have went with brass, but not chrome.

I used to be in the "black rims are terrible" camp not too very long ago. Thought they looked like cheap snow tires were put on the car. I don't know if it's the improved designs, larger rims or what now, but on certain vehicles, black rims just look better.
Not sure I've ever fully been on team chrome... I always preferred machined or gunmetal. That said, I can't see any other color than gloss black on my torch red!
Just as a side note... I'm 41 yrs old since some seem to think it's age related

Not a fan of the black and the chrome is too much bling for me but the polished are in between-too bad they're not offered as a factory option. When the paint chips get too bad on my painted Z51 wheels I may just have them polished and get the look I really prefer.
These may look like chrome but they are actually polished aluminum and they are a factory option.

I think all-black wheels are too dark. But with the red stripe around the outside edge and red calipers I think it looks great (of course I'm biased because that is what I bought).

Most of all, it's great that we can all buy what we like.
