Which part were you surprised by? The China part? Or the "cast" (as opposed to forged) part?

This is a contributing factor on why we're seeing more and more threads pop up about bent or cracked rims.

GM is huge in China.
I would bet the stuff with Mexico on it came from China.

I was surprised to see how much OEM parts came from China and Mexico when I started working on my C6.
The C7 has even more.

Even Harley Davidson is a metric bike now days.
Don't tell their boneheaded owners, though.

it's the reason we've seen the decline in American prosperity in all but a select few over the past almost 50 years now. politicians and the top of the wealthiest. maybe one day it will change back. And yes, i would survive with less if it meant we all were lifted up a bit and not just the top while the middles (upper and lower) support both top and bottom..

OP, not happy you started my Sunday Corvette forum browsing with this lol

inferior junk.

Dicastal is the name of the manufacturer. They are the largest producer of alum wheels in the world.

Is that the valve stem so close that you can’t fill it?
if so that would worry me more than anything else

There are Chinese companies producing high-quality products, and there are those producing cheap junk. Dicastal has a good reputation, and they also produce forged (probably rotary forged) aluminum wheels. Supposedly, the Z51 wheels they produce are rotary forged.

My 18 Z51 wheels have the same stamp as in the picture posted in the OP.

The wheels pictured in the OP are Z51 wheels. The threads about bent and cracked wheels pertain to the GS and Z06 wheels. You don't see threads on bent Z51 wheels.

The reason the wheels come from where they come from is simple. GM has to turn a profit for their shareholders. To do that they buy parts from whomever can produce parts to spec for the lowest cost to GM. Now they could buy all their parts from US manufacturers only, but then the C7 would be significantly more expensive. How many people post in this forum about what a great deal they got on their C7?

The world isn't black and white, no matter how many want it to be.

Some of use would beg to differ...
There is something clearly wrong with Harley owners... Most are only owners and will never learn how to ride a motorcycle.
As a Harley owner, do you know what the lever on the right handle bar is for?
