2016 no front spoiler?
I just had my 2016 Corvette with 4,000 miles up on a lift and I have no front spoiler. The bolts are there, and there are smaller spoilers in front of each tire but nothing in the center.
My dealer said this is how the 2016’s were equipped. Mine is a level 2 with performance exhaust and 460hp.
Does your 2016 have a chin spoiler or just the bolts?
No Spoiler in Center?

Jeez... those are the bolts to hold your undertray. Go to the dealership, do you see another z51 with a front splitter? Nope.

Thanks everyone for the quick response. Yes the car is a Z51 which I did not know as I purchased it for my wife. I have a 2013 427 along with 11 other vehicles so I often have to refer to the quick instructions when it gets put into the rotation.
My first car was a 1961 Corvette back in 1967 and I usually had at least one in my garage over the years. I no longer turn wrenches on my vehicles but all my tools are still there.

Not to nitpick but that missing piece is not a splitter, it is correctly called the air dam

That is a splitter. (a horizontal part the divides airflow)

No need to be overly concerned with the exact name of the part, I simply wondered why I had all the bolts in place and nothing attached to them. Seemed kind of pointless, as long as the car came that way it’s ok. I like to keep my vehicles stock ordering the options I would like when I buy them.
Nothing wrong with customization mind you, I did that when I was young, it’s just that the modern cars have so much horsepower, get terrific mileage, and are so comfortable, and handle so well why bother?

Perhaps NOT for you since you think using the "right part name" is asking too much but I'll provide this post for others! Assuming you are really asking about the center air dam-which from your pic you don't have, this is what cars should and should not have one.
The C7 Z51, all years, never had a center air dam and after several years of obfuscating "marketing speak" the real issue as to why even Tadge finally admitted! It was because at very high speeds it promoted oversteer when they require understand at the limit! Remember the Corvair and Ralph Nadar’s overstated BS about oversteer!
My Grand Sport with the Stage 2 aero option package does not have a center air dam per a GM bulletin on the subject! It only has the two side air dams. Same for the Z06 with it the Stage 2 or 3 aero package. Here is where the confusion comes in! The Grand Sport and Z06 with the standard plastic poverty splitter and ¾ side skirts has a center air dam.
All base Stingrays have all three air dams, the center an two sides.

[QUOTE=JerryU;1598047301]You still haven't said if you have a Z51!
Excuse me, I clearly stated above that yes the car is a Z51.
I was simply asking a question from fellow Corvette owners which was answered to my satisfaction.
There is absolutely no need to get excited about air dam vs spoiler unless we are competing at the Indianapolis 500.
Chill Out!

I have to laugh. For some reason I think JerryU uses periods and exclamation points about 50/50 when he posts. Not sure where that comes from, I've seen other people (not on the forum) do similar. Fascinating.
I have a z51 also and there was no center piece. I added the poverty splitter to complete the look. When I look at a C7 from the front and there is no center piece there it just looks odd. Seems like there is a huge amount of ground clearance there and I don't care for that look at all. It's like having a pair of jeans that are 4" too short.

I'm always chilled but in a rush as finishing packing as going to the Ryder Cup!
Sorry, did not see that as it was confounded with pic of your garage!

Yep, my preferences is giving talks where if you don't use voice inflexions and make it fun folks lose interest!
Funny, the two books I recently wrote for CarTech Pro Series (on automotive welding, etc) had some of my exclamation points BUT not as many as my posts! Surprised they let get them go through and they loved my Side Bars with advanced tech "stuff." Has many pics! Not the best the writing style but gets attention!
Below is a modified bulletin GM supplies to dealers to tell what part goes where! I purposely put the center air dam in larger print as it has been a question since GM eliminated it on the Z51 and didn't tell anyone the real reson why until several years later! Note I left off for space reasons as they were in another table that all standard C7s have all three air dams and all Z51's don't have the center one!
Having had a center air dam on my C6 Z51 I wondered what so have followed the issue very closely and site the info in posts as well as mag articles is this 7 page PDF: http://netwelding.com/Air_Dam.pdf
Tech support is included to show why at highway speed the air dam increases mpg! That why the Chevy Volt has one as low as that on the Vette! Their is an included quote from GM's chief aerodynamicist.

I agree we had a friends Grandsport up on my lift looking for the source of an annoying odor he was experiencing. I was impressed with how buttoned up the underside of his car was. We did find water from his air conditioner was draining on his Cat so we thought once it got hot it might vaporize the water producing a scorched order.
When we were done I put my wife’s on the lift and discovered the missing center piece. My buddy had left so I went to my local dealer (Sunday) current models he had were equipped with center piece. So I turned to the Forum, helpful as always!
