Another great road trip in the C7 Vert
The weather was beautiful, the car was flawless (except for the A8 shudder that will be taken care of soon) We left North Carolina, and headed to Joliet, IL to start a partial Route 66 run to Tucumcari, NM. As always we met a lot of good folks, and had a ton of comments on the car. Each day from the day we left someone gave us a compliment, or wanted to talk about the car. Had one young man in New Mexico take a selfie with the car. The comments, and compliments make the trip a little more fun.
Disclaimer: I had this pics in order we got to them, but it seems the picture downloader had other ideas.
The Dixie Truckers Home. McClean, IL. Good food.
Route 66 Drive-In, Carthage, MO
Lucille's Road House (and the bride), Hydro, TX
EL Reno, OK
Tee Pee Curios, and my good buddy Gar Engman (Owner) Tucumcari, NM
Rich Henry, and myself at Henry's Rabbit Ranch. Staunton, IL
I just liked this picture. Took it while at the Route 66 Drive-In. Of course the dang bra takes away from the looks of the car.
Avon Courts, Afton, MO
Spencer Service Station. Spencer, MO
Soulsby Station. Mt. Olive, IL
The Gemini Giant at the Launching Pad Cafe. Wilmington, IL
Johns Modern Cabins. Newburg, MO
And the totals.

Since you stopped in El Reno, I presume you also drove down Main-street Yukon, so what gives?? No PM so we could have met up for an Onion Burger at Sid's just down the street from where you took the pic? My feelings are crushed...
Great pics though and seriously, we could have gotten some good pics of both our cars there. Next time!!

Route 66 runs through my hometown of Edmond, OK. Did you happen to stop by the big red round barn in Arcadia, OK? It is about 10 miles from my house.

I remember the Route 66 Drive-In in Carthage, MO very well. I graduated from Carthage High School and spent a number of evenings at the drive in. Sounds like a great trip you took - would like to do something similar some day.

Thanks brother, I set that one up as I have been there before.
Dang Tom, that's my fault. I suffer from "CRS" (Can't remember ****). I'll try my best to remember next time. We've had one of y'all's onion burgers, but not at Sid's. It was mighty good though.
We were going to stop this time, but it just had to be raining that day. We have visited the barn on a previous occasion. It's some pretty advanced architecture for those times.
Oh noooo, do you mean I missed another chance to get a free beer?
It's like playing Tetris my friend. We use a soft sided duffle, and a soft hanging cloths bag. We pack those for 4 days travel, and wash along the way. Most all of the chain motels have washers & dryers for the guest at reasonable prices. Along with the duffle, and hanging bag we use one of the old time cosmetic cases (hard sided from the 60's we found at an antique store) to carry incidentals, ex. the brides stuff, shaving cream, razor, etc. With that you still have room for a cloth grocery bag for snacks or other small things, and a small cooler (like a lunch cooler) for 2-3 bottles of water. The bride also has a small cloth bag that she carries the washing supplies. Before you put all that stuff in the trunk you can slide smaller items (like her extra shoes ) under the truck partition. Don't push that smaller stuff under the partition to hard, or you'll unsnap the lower part of the partition. Trust me, you don't wanna do that. I never got the ones in my C6 snapped back down.

Great shots! Love the color combo of your C7 and BTW I think the bra contrasts really nicely and is not as ugly as one would think.
