Seat ventilation upgrade?
Like many others have complained about, the ventilated seats seem pretty weak and that's being generous. Has anyone researched modifications to the factory seat vent system to improve effectiveness? Yes, I can envision an onslaught of memes and jokes but being serious...
I haven't researched the control systems, seat construction or stock fans used but beginning to wonder how involved an upgrade would be??

OK..... I'll bite.....
For those Z06 owners, they could perhaps vent some of the blower and siphon off some air pressure to pump through the seats ....... maybe ?

Because for some unknown reason in this particular Carline they decided to have the seats Blow instead of suck the air from your body like every other GM vehicle and so many other manufacturers.
if these seats pulled the air from your body as opposed to Blow cabin air at you? It would be a game changer. Hope they get it right for C8.. so dumb.

I find that extremely difficult to believe considering the fan just pushes air around. As such, even if you have the A/C cranked it can really be not much more cooler than the general cabin temperature.

We just got a '19 GS 2LT ragtop and are really impressed with the air flow of the ventilated seats. -- much better than our Tahoe.

You've lost your mind.
the Corvette seats blow cabin temp air around.
the tahoe SUCKS humid warm air from your body and exhausts it underneath.
the Corvette seat blows air at you and it has NOWHERE TO GO
it's slightly satisfying for maybe 3 minutes max. Then nothing.
my Yukon Denali seats and my father's Acadia Denali seats you cant leave on high because you'll get too cold as it pulls body heat off of you too quick.
Lear stuck it to us good on this one. And they have the tech for both. Blow and duck. But we got blow instead (so much funny in this argument it's tough to be angry)

Indeed! As I moved back to Phoenix earlier this year I am reminded how hot it gets here. IFF you get in your car and have sweat down the middle of your back and IFF you can get the cabin temperature down from the ungodly temps it reaches here in a parked car in Phoenix, then maybe, just maybe that swishing around of are may feel good on your lower back and again, for about 3 minutes. But that's it. That's one of the reasons why I stated in another thread that one of the most useless features on the C7 is the medium and low settings on the ventilated seat button. I would never say "Gee I'm on setting 3 and it's way too cool so let me try setting 2 (or 1)"!

The seats work like a personal swamp cooler/evaporative cooler. This means that the lower the humidity, combined with the lower the cabin air (it sucks air from the cabin floor), and how thin and damp your clothing is, makes a huge difference. Once the moisture in your clothing and skin is evaporated, the cooling effect is diminished.

You hit on one main reason why the seats work well for some and not others.

I run the seats 100% of the time.
And run the AC out the bottom vents, most of the time, so the Seat pulls the cool air off the floor.
It feels colder at first, and once I'm not hot anymore it doesn't feel like the seats are cooling as much.
But, I'm also not sweating anymore either because the seats are working as designed.
Anyone thinking they don't work too well, Shut them off and it doesn't take long to feel hot again

The ventilated seats do work well for me. If it’s not working for you, you might try:
1. Lose weight
2. Wear scrubs
3. Wear mesh shorts
4. Sit in them when you are sweaty or, on a long car ride, turn them on when your butt is already sweaty.
they always work, but they are far more noticeable when you are heading home from the gym in mesh shorts. I can’t imagine anyone would feel anything regardless of design if they were wearing jeans. It’s not an air conditioner, just a fan. Great at preventing swampass

To which I would also add, remote start works wonders to cool off the interior of the car before you climb in and the ventilated seats help keep the seating surfaces from heating up as you go.
I have a convertible, live in Dallas and run top and windows down in temperatures between 95-103 degrees all summer long--over 103 and it's just too hot for me.
Compared to my 67 convertible that I sit on a towel to soak up back sweat, no back sweat on my dress shirts driving around in the C7 (I drive it to and from work), with the AC running on the floor vents (yes, that's correct, I run the AC with the top and windows down if it's over 85 degrees). My main quibble is I wish the ventilated seats would stay in the on position after you shut the car off, as I sometimes forget to switch the seats back on, the next time I drive the car. Because I use them nearly all the time, always on until you turn off the ventilated seats would be nice.

Interesting. I just brought home my new to me 16 z51. Ran the seats on high and initially I felt cooler and even turned them down to the second level. That sensation didn’t last though and by the time I got it home ( 75 miles ) I am not even sure it was running.
