I bought my C7 to enjoy it anyway I want, not for others to tell me how to best enjoy it. For example, not being told how much I should or should not drive it.

I just looked at the title again ( and it clicked differently than before), and all I know is I bought it for less $ than most of the later MYs.

Purchased mine because it’s a high performance car and is a Corvette, dream realized. Any thing included, or excluded after that didn’t effect the dream.

Lotus Elise? I test drove one and there was NO comfort; but man, was it exhilarating to drive!

Obviously we all bought the c7 to drive. The other things you mention that you did not buy your car for are just additional niceties which add to the driving experience.

While I do agree with much of your post had I opted for a 2 lt or 3 lt I would expect the extra options to work as advertised. I bought the base 1 lt Stingray because I didn't need or want the ridiculous priced 2 lt or 3 lt option pkgs. I wanted a sports car and the only options I went with were the carbon flash rear spoiler and dual mode performance exhaust.. That was my choice and I'm very happy with it.
I don't blame others for wanting all the extra's because that's their choice and they paid dearly for those options so they should be rewarded with all the bells and whistles Chevy promised them.
The only option I miss is the homelink garage door opener because I hate garage door remote controls that hook to your sun visor. I wasn't spending thousands more to get it along with all the other stuff I don't need or want.
We all have choices and that's a good thing because we all have different wants and needs when it comes to these awesome cars.

Default Why did I but my C7?

One of the things on my bucket list was a 650 HP car! Why? Who knows!
I took my 2015 Z51 vert if for an oil change. I am in the service area of the shop doing the paper work, and my wife comes back from the showroom and says they have your bucket list up on the showroom floor! It was a Watkins Glenn Gray ZO6! Never got the oil changed!

I don’t think there is any WRONG reason to buy a Corvette! They are excellent cars, and they are expensive enough to assume that whoever buys one, probably wants it.

I had the same mentality when I bought mine. Coming from a 1998 Camaro SS, even the 1LT Corvette seemed awash in luxury. After putting about 4000 miles on the car, there are some options that I wish it had (memory seats with lumbar adjustments, heat and vent). I don’t think I would take the hit on my car trading into one with a 2LT package. When I’m driving the car, I forget about all of the bells and whistles and just enjoy the experience.

In a few years, I may trade into a Heritage edition GS or a Z06, and if I do, I’ll find one with the 2LT or 3LT interior. For now though, I’m really happy with my car....especially when I stomp on the gas or fly around a tight corner.

There is always one poster that turns a fun post into a testosterone contest. I'm not on this Forum for that, just for some good information and fun discussions. By the way there is a thread about showing your DIC. Maybe you should hang around there.

I'm right behind you at 72. I bought a vert so it would a little easier to get in and out of. My wife had a Miata and I couldn't get my 6'1" body in or out of it without the top down.

i agree. I do enjoy those features but they would not have been deal breakers if they weren't there. My previous vette had those included also.

That's funny because that's exactly how I took your post. It was dismissive of everyone else's concerns and just a brag about how cool you are because you got your vette for all the "right" manly reasons. In other words, it wan't a "fun" post at all since the major portion of it was dismissing other people's concerns. I don't think you are at all interested why other people got their vettes. You were ragging on them before they even posted. Every single one of your reasons--ALL of them, were written in a negative manner. And frankly, no one gives a **** why you did anyway. We're all so very impressed that you did things for the "right" reasons.

I bought the 2LT package for a reason. Same reasoning I bought the Z51 Vert M7. To enjoy driving it anyway I want to with the added creature comforts that I paid for. I expect it all to work very well. So far, no disappointments. But don't get all dooshy about what should be or shouldn't be a legitimate gripe for those who paid for extras but aren't having the same positive experience I'm having.
