Default ATF Thernal Bypass Valve

I have a 2017 with an A8 in which I am in the process of changing out the ATF fluid for the new Mobil 1 synthetic LV HP.
The service manual indicates that some but not all A8's have a THERMAL BYPASS VALVE inline to the transmission cooler and the procedure for checking the fluid level involves having this valve in the correct operating mode (open).
Does anyone know how to determine if your transmission has a thermal bypass valve or not?

Assuming you have a C7 Corvette, there is no thermal bypass valve.

I do have a C7 and according to the GM service manual
some do and some don’t. I’m trying to find out if I do or don’t
have a bypass valve.

How can you tell one way or another?
where would it be located?
what does it look like?

I don't know which is correct, but I do know that:
Sometimes the Service Manual is wrong.
Sometimes people who give advice are wrong.

When you get it figured out, please post.
Thanks!

I have never seen one on a C7 if there is one it should be located on the feed line to cooler or bolted directly to the trans where cooling lines attach. Check if its working bring trans up to operating temp if both lines are hot its working
