Default LG Motorsports Oil Cooler Kit

Hello everyone,

This is the latest and most thoroughly tested version of the LG Motorsports oil cooler. After many variations we settled on this design. It has been designed to work with naturally aspirated, supercharged and ProCharged C7 Corvettes. We recorded the temperature on the factory system at 298° on a 97° Texas day with track surface temperature at 122°. The LG Motorsports Oil Cooler Kit saved the day with temperatures never exceeding 239° in similar conditions as previously tested. THAT'S A DECREASE OF 60 DEGREES!!! This kit is a complete bolt-on affair and can be installed in the garage at home in a few hours with basic handtools. We utilize our billet adapter block to allow you to tie into the oiling system and run -10AN stainless steel hoses to and from the cooler. Buy with confidence that all testing and fitment has been taken care of for you and all you have to do is have fun on the track!

These are on the shelf ready to ship today!

ORDER YOURS HERE

Thanks,
Fernando

Nice.

Wet and dry sump compatible?
How/where does it tap into?
Pictures show front bumper off. Is it necessary to pull that off for installation?

Yes!
It deletes the factory oil cooler and relocates to a more efficient location. It is recommended to remove the front clip for ease of installation. Give us a call for more info 972-429-1963.

Is there a bypass valve or thermostat in the adapter block? The OEM C6 version has a bypass valve to shut the output off temporarily during high rpm transients to prevent OP drops.

No there is not, we did not find it necessary. OEM LS7 heads also have iron valve guides

Ok... I'm just about ready to toss this kit in my shopping cart for use on my '17 stingray that I take to the track... But i do have a question about the how it mounts/installs:

Either end of the cooler is hidden above and I'm very curious as to how the cooler is installed or more specifically, how the cooler is fastened into place. How is it secured? I guess i'm just being dense.

I have a 14 z51 auto. No engine cooling issues but transmission overheating after 10 to 12 mins on the track. Will this help me?

No. This is an engine oil cooler only and won’t help with your transmission temps.

The very first thing I suggest doing, if you haven’t done already, is to put your car in manual mode and use paddles only. Doing so, I can run my ‘17 A8 all day — but I do keep an eye on the temp gauge.

If I run in pure auto mode, the temps will ramp right up there and get very near the top limit. Manual/paddles = all day fun.

More for peace of mind, I will be adding the deep tranny pan:

if I run out of fun mods to do and feel masochistic, I’ll install their larger cooler. But if I were you, start simple and move in stages.

The ends of the cooler are just hidden by the fascia support. We provide rivnuts with the kit, you’ll just drill out holes insert the rivnuts and then bolt on the oil cooler.
