Oil Change on Grand Sport

Oil Change on Grand Sport
I am buying a 17 Grand Sport from a non GM dealer, It only has 744 miles on it , but it hasn't had the 500 mile oil change. Is that an issue with GM on warranty?

^ I agree, shouldn't be an issue if done very soon. I'd suggest a little research to find a good service dept, might contact your local Corvette club for recommendations.
I wonder what's the story as to a non-GM dealer having it with so few miles.

Note the last sentence in the GM bulletin states, quoting: “Oil foam has no effect on engine durability.” It’s just the “possible dripping of oil on the ground” the 500 mile change is supposed to prevent. FWIW I did not change the oil in my C7 Z51 until ~1500 miles as there was NO GM bulletin November 24, 2014. When I added a low restriction air filter system checked the filter and air tube and not a drop of oil. In Wet Sumps, no dry sump tank, no hose going to the air intake tube, no chance of oil dripping from the oil filter- NO CHANGING OIL AT 500 MILES!
However from forum posts since I got my C7 dry sump in October 2013, some ~14 months before that GM bulletin when NO 500 mile change was required, there are many folks who have oil dripping from the air filter AFTER the 500 mile change from dealers overfilling when they made the change! Read the Owner's Manual and check the oil level after the dealer changes the oil. I'd let the car idle for ~10 minutes to get the oil hot per the Owner's Manual than check the level per the Manual before I left the dealership. Bet 75+% of the dealer techs don't bother to get the oil hot and follow the manual and check the oil level! In fact, it is the oil level NOT some volume estimate in a table that is key (per the 4 volume C7 Service Manual and my 60+ year history of changing oil! )
Read the CAUTION in the Owner's Manual in the How To Check Level Section, that states overfilled oil can damage the engine! It says if it is above MAX have the dealer remove to the proper level!

One of my neighbors had a C7 Grand Sport that he just traded for a brand new BMW M4 with the competition package. I'd personally never trade my Corvette for a BMW, but if I had more money I would definitely have an M4 to add to the stable too, BMW makes a lot of incredible cars.

500 Mile Oil Change
There should be no issue at 700 plus milage. Assume this is a trade in car so you need to determine when the first buyer bought it. That is the date the two year warranty and three oil changes starts. You need to do the service workt at a chevy dealer. Bought my 17 GS in NH and drove it home with a scheduled oil change the next day with 650 miles.

My wife has a 2010 BMW 328i which we bought out of warranty in 2014 and it's been very reliable. It has needed a water pump and the intake gaskets but that's the only repairs it's needed, and we've got a great mechanic that charges us less than half of what the BMW dealers want for the same repair jobs. We bought it with 80,000 kms on it and it now has 175,000 kms and still feels tight.
