Default Seat Protection

I have a 017 ZO6 without comp. seats. Has anyone out there using some sort of protection on the drivers side of the seat back to keep from wearing when getting into the car. This a very vulnerable area.
Thanks for the input

We use the technique of facing away from the car and sitting down sideways in the seat, then lean forward slightly, pivot and swing the legs into place.
Our 2009 had 102k miles when traded, my bolster was showing some wear but not a lot.

I purchased this seat towel that you throw over the seat via the head rest $34. It works great and when I want to take it off it just lifts right off to wash it or show the car. I'm going to order one for the passenger side now.

Are the side airbags in a C7 installed in the edges of the seat back?
If so, you don't want to cover that area.

I'll have to check and see if that is the location of the air bag in the seat. I figured the seat towel being lose wouldn't affect the air bag deployment?

^^^^You are correct in my opinion. Those things explode out, that loose towel won't even slow 'em down!

Sit and swivel is the way to go!

Mine, which has over 100,000 miles, has very little wear on the seats.

Madrob could be right, but I wouldn't want to bet my brain on it. I could see the airbag sort of following inside the seat towel for a few inches, then breaking through and hitting me in the shoulder.
Of course, I haven't yet gone out to the garage to see where the bags are actually located. IIRC, 1LT cars don't have the side bags but 2LT & 3LT do.

Had one of those in my C6. Used once. They slip and slide and bunch up under you. Just my experience.

All C7’s have side air bags.

The only difference between 1LT and 2LT seats is the cheap seat back emblem that breaks off, both obviously have same air bag system.

Did not realize this was a problem, but thanks to the forum you learn something each day or find a bit of humor.

It looks like I'm good with the seat towel. The towel actually lays around the air bag canister.

I quoted wrong poster I guess & confused you or I'm confused. I was referring to gearheadjim's post #9 saying 1Lt didn't have seat side air bags & following post by ZK147C7 correcting him.
