Sad, but excited
First off let me say that the Forum has been a wealth of information and the other members have been full of excellent advise.
Just traded my 2014 Triple Black C7 Vert because of health issues, it was nearly impossible for me to enter and exit without assistance.
Will miss the excitement and thrill of the C7 (7822 miles). But I can't get away from the thrill of brute power, so I found a coupe that was very easy to enter and exit.
Took delivery yesterday of a 2017 Lime Green Dodge Challenger SRT (6.4 liter engine /485 HP), loaded with many options and has only 2983 miles.
Spent a sleepless night last night because of how excited I was with the choice.
Curious about the value of the vette my wife and I went to a Resale Center to see what they would give me for my Vette, and there sitting on the showroom floor was the Challenger. Had my eye on this model for months, but my wife insisted that we make a trade offer, the vette and $1,000.00 for the Challenger (they eventually took the deal with my initial offer) They initially wanted $3,500.00 and the vette. After some negotiations and before I started to walk out twice , the manager said wait we will do the deal. That is my farewell story, thanks for the great reading each morning, please take care and enjoy your passion for cars

Enjoy your new Challenger !
Had 2, a 2010 R/T and the 2016 Scat Pack (same engine as your SRT) that I traded for my 17' Grand Sport a little over a year ago; I do miss it sometimes...

We've got a 2018 Scat Charger... One of the best cars we've ever had! 11k miles in one year!
I think you're going to love your Challenger. The difference in interior comfort and space is huge and like you said, not giving up any power.

Sorry to hear about the vette but I'm sure you'll enjoy you're new ride. Challengers are cool. Always liked them.

I'm glad you found a ride that's more comfortable to get into. In a tight parking spot the C7 can be a challenge.

Best of luck and much enjoyment with your new ride. Know how you feel about getting out of the Vette. Gets a little rough for me at times.

Melting Slicks
Just last night trying to get this 70yr old body out of the C7 with a lot of grunting, I commented to the wife, "don't know how much longer I can do this". So I understand.
My wife, however, just said "work out more old man, we are not getting rid of the C7" (its her's anyway, so I guess if I can't get in and out of it, not a big deal to her)

I've been telling the wife that between the Challenger, Mustang and Camaro the Challenger is one bad car. That would be my top choice. Maybe a Demon.
Good pick. You're still allowed to waive to us so don't forget.

I've lusted after the new Challenger since its return in 2008. Went to pull the trigger last year but in all fairness to my wife at 5' she can't see out the rear or to the sides. I really wanted a Hellcat so I compromised and we got the Charger instead. She has better visibility with the Charger. We still have the Z06 and the 2006 convertible. Enjoy the Challenger.

I have had two R/T Challengers. Loved them. I was thinking of trading the 16 z51 I just bought in on one but may have to look at the 18 Mustang GT. With x plan and first responder discount it would come in under 30k new.
