Our experience with handheld CBs is that they don't work very well (antenna is just too much of a compromise). Speaking of antennas, the one I use on my C7 is only 3' long - more than enough for the use it gets

gotcha, so you use a "full size" not a handheld, and just keep it in the center arm rest. I have plenty of room in the center console/arm rest in my Tahoe, i might give this a try.

Could just put the Zello app on your smartphone and come in to the light of the 21st😁. I’ve used it on runs in North Texas, it works great.

(but what do I know !)
And, before that, another 40,000 miles in a few C6s....with FRS. And, another 20,000 in C5s with CBs (on C5s). It's personal choice, I feel.

I've got both a CB and a cheap Baofeng handheld for my offroader. CB is rarely used, but there. I use the Baofeng handheld for 'Vette'ing. Covers FRS/GMRS/HAM.

Won't argue. Sticking with .5w GMRS/2w FRS. Never HAM (unless emergency).

I had no idea you could still buy a CB radio. Are they in the aisle next to portable CD players?

I don't bad mouth your black wheels, so give it some slack on having a radio in the car that allows you to talk and not have to listen to RAP all day!

I don’t have black wheels or listen to rap. The last time I had a CB in a car was nearly 40 years ago. I honestly didn’t know they still sold them.

How does the antenna mount effect your rear-view camera?

You can use a glass mounted antenna on the highest point of hatch.

Through-glass antennas are horrible (mega loss).. ESPECIALLY at the lower frequencies
