Thanks Ken, didn't realize that..

Because the installation of this pipe results in the removal of the secondary cats which is technically illegal.

Advanced
I gutted my cats which is free. But x pipe is def easier to install for someone that doesn't have the tools that help make it not so tough.
Gutting converters is not the easiest to do. Plus it looks so much better.

Just installed this about a month ago on my 17 Z06. It does add a bit of power. However the biggest benefit is the louder and deeper exhaust. I absolutely love it. I also installed a mild to wild switch though out of respect for my neighbors. This way I can close the valve in the early morning hours or late evening as it is about 20% louder than stock.

correct. The 60548 retains the factory rear cats and you wind up cutting them and clamping the pipe to them. The 60547 is the one I installed and removed the rear cats (leaving the front ones).

True, but in the interests of full disclosure to anyone considering this, elimination of the secondary cats can cause problems in a number of states. In MD for example, they use a floor mirror to look for their absence on the required bi-annual emissions certification. That alone causes a failure, which means you can't renew your registration without correcting the deficiency.
Just a heads up to check the situation in your state before taking the plunge, and make an informed decision on whether or not to proceed. Yes, you can always remount before going to inspection, but that is a PIA to most folks that may not be worth a rather small benefit.

Just hit 504 miles on the Grand Sport, so I did an oil change and decided it was time to throw that Borla 60547 xpipe I had on it. I've been here 2 other times with other C7's, but it never ceases to amaze me just how big of a difference these things make. WOW.
The video is just a quick start and comparison of idle since I can't simultaneously record and rev the motor at once. I'll get that video tomorrow or something.

I am ready to pull the trigger on the Borla 60549 xpipe as well!. I just want to know where you picked it up for $350!!!

if I have to do this every time I have to have the car DEQ’d in order to renew the registration I’m out. Call it too much of a PITA.

If they just do the OBD test you’ll be fine as the rear resonators aren’t monitored. I don’t believe any state can actually remove the panel under the vehicle for inspection. Therefore they would never know.

They are still visible with a convex floor mirror, which is used in my state along w/ the OBDII plug in. Of course, some inspectors are more diligent than others, and as the iconic movie quote goes, " you have to ask yourself, am I feeling lucky today . . ." For some the benefits are too small to be worth it.
